Hi! Ideally I would like to build a new rig but I don't have the money right now and won't have in the foreseeable future. So, I thought I'd give my current machine a bit of a face-lift which is a bit more affordable. Here's what I have in mind but I would love some feed back! Here's what I currently have: (Please excuse the links to a Swedish website)
Cooler Master Elite 310 Chieftec A-85 Series CTB-650S 650W PSU ASUS P8Z68-V LX, Socket-1155 Intel® Core i5-2500K Processor Kingston ValueR. DDR3 1333MHz 8GB, CL9 Seagate Barracuda® 7200.12 1TB (+ some other Wester Digital HDD) Gainward GTX 770 Phantom 2GB Samsung 840 EVO It's all right and I have upgraded the GPU and added an SSD since my original build but I have some issues with it.
Here's what I want to add/replace:
The 310 is basic and ugly as ****. It's also very loud with the current low cost fans in it. So;
↓Cooler Master Elite 310 ↑Fractal Design Define R4 + all new cooling solutions.
I'm actually running out of RAM occasionally and something is making games crash when watching YouTube videos on my second monitor for example, I suspect I need a RAM upgrade? So;
↓Kingston ValueR. DDR3 1333MHz 8GB, CL9
↑HyperX Fury DDR3 1600MHz 16GB
One final thing which is pretty much only to please my OCD, but I'd like to replace my PSU with a modular one, so;
↓Chieftec A-85 Series CTB-650S 650W PSU
↑Corsair CX 600M, 600W PSU
Does this look reasonable to you? I'm not expecting performance increases at all (I'm not THAT stupid), but it's more of a cosmetic and clean-up-ish change (I will re-install Windows etc.).
Are these components good choices? Is there anything else I should change/replace/add while I'm at it?
Thanks in advance!
