  1. Thats the 13 inch i though. the model they offered is the 14 which does have a fan. Im assuming its the same components though.
  2. Okay, thank you. I was not able to find many reviews on the asus so i was a concerned with it while i saw reviews for the other two so thats why i was asking about it too.
  3. I was offered the others reimbursement of retail price, no cost to me, company pays for it. While i would have to pay for the thinkpad as it was not of of these 3 they offered to pay for.
  4. Thanks for the recommendation but the thinkpad is not an option. By durability i meant motherboard quality and the quality of the connections internally. I will often be carrying these in crowed environments and for extended periods of time plus these are the ones i was offered reimbursement of the purchase cost for.
  5. I am currently trying to decide on a new laptop out of the following three. Samsung Notebook 9 w/ 256gb ssd: $1200 USD (http://www.samsung.com/us/computing/windows-laptops/12-14/notebook-9-13-3---16gb-ram--np900x3n-k04us/#specs) Razer Blade Stealth 13.3 w/ 256gb ssd: $1400 USD (https://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-blade-stealth) Asus Zenbook 3 Deluxe w/ 512gb ssd: $1700 USD (http://store.asus.com/us/item/201706AM020000003/A47082-ASUS+Zenbook+3+Deluxe+UX490UA-XS74-BL+14"+Intel+i7+7500U+16GB+512GB+NVMe+SSD) Based of what I can tell they are all basically the same expect with different io (not a concern as I have adapters if needed), difference I weight but that not an issue for me as all are under 3lbs. Which one would you pick if you had to buy one as I need a laptop portable laptop for work. As well as which one you think would be the most durable over a period of about 5 years as that is about how long I intend to keep it.
  6. I think he should keep his current order as he already got it. Now to your point I would keep these fans that are included and do some testing and see how they go and if you feel they are to to loud try out the noctua and see if anything changes.
  7. As for psu take a look at this one.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017HA3SQ8/ref=twister_B01LXKQ07C?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 But any major brand power supply will be fine. I just have mainly used evga power supplies and they worked well for me.
  8. I would get the Ryzen 1700 and just overclock it as all of the cpus are basically identical just different stock speeds. and i would use the extra cash from that you save to get the 480. Ram is would recomend the Corsair vengeance lpx
  9. I suffer performance issues when running my vms and doing folding at the same time. I mean folding on the host and running a vm on the host. I want to prevent this issue as the vm i run works as a server.
  10. I want to do folding at home but cant use the cpu to do it as i run vms with the same cpu and if i try running folding at home the vms start to have issues. I was wondering if there was a way i could set it to only use my gpu this way i can not hurt the virtual machines i run off my cpu while letting my gpu do the folding.
  11. thats for sure. i think that lower the oc just helps the error not pop up if you get what im saying for tricks windows somehow into not blue screening for a bit. allowing you to redo the driver for nvidia and windows itself. remove the geforce drivers and update windows then reinstall geforce drivers and let me know how it goes.
  12. Its a issue with windows and an update that damages the nvidia drivers and when taxed it causes the blue screen. i lover my friends oc from 4.3 to 4.2 and did that i said above and it solved it. then slowly redid the original overclock.
  13. I get its not the overclock. I had this issue with a friends pc and what i did was just turn down the oc a bit. redid graphics driver and ran windows update. i dont get why but that fixed it for him and then we put the overclock back where it was.
  14. and then reinstall the nvidia drivers. then retry that overclock at the 4.2
