  1. Heyo! Looking for projector recommendations around €500, at least full 1080p, the screen would need to be tilted down a bit as it needs to be placed behind the sofa. The room is not too-too bright, but has some large windows. Smart features are nice-to-have, but not necessary.
  2. Posted it the AHK forum as well, it seemed like some of my AHK syntax was off.
  3. It seems like the left option (alt) key is working fine with AHK, but the right one does not. I tried changing the syntax up as described in the documentation for the right alt key and altGr with no success. Advice?
  4. Tried that. Didn't work. Well, the keyboard "works", I'm typing on it right now. But there are some buttons and shortcuts that i'd like to change.
  5. Thanks for your reply! I Just tried Autolt, I probably have the syntax wrong or something but it doesn't work at all. I'll try AHK again tomorrow, just realised that it's almost 3am...
  6. I've been using the Apple Magic keyboard 2 at work (as a back-end web developer) for a few months now and even though I usually hate a lot on Apple, I have got to say that I love it. So recently I went out and replaced my huge mechanical gaming keyboard at home with a Razer Orbweaver Chroma for gaming and a Apple Magic Keyboard 2 for typing/coding. However, it seems like Windows support for Apple Keyboards is terrible (as expected). After fiddeling around for a few hours, I managed to change some small stuff like the Cmd key for the ctrl key using SharpKeys. But I would like to change a lot more. The left option key doesn't seem to work properly for example. And I would like to be able to do backslashes and stuff mac-style. I managed to change some of it using AutoHotKeys, however, it randomly stops and starts working. So, is there anyone out there that has done this before?
  7. Hahahah that's usually why I just buy new stuff instead of spending insane amounts of time with trying to get it fixed. But I just can't afford another 600$ monitor right now... It's Acer support though, but I assume that might be worse...
  8. Tried using 3 different cables, DP, HDMI and DVI on my XPS 15. And to rule out Windows or Geforce drivers, I tried it on my Macbook as well. No dice. So must be an issue with the monitor somehow. Thanks a lot guys!
  9. I'll give it a try tomorrow, Thanks a lot! Honestly didn't expect a lot of answers tonight heh.
  10. This started about a week ago, random stripes started appearing on the screen on my first monitor (Acer XG270HU2 144hz, 1440p) but not my second one (some random Aoc 1080p 60hz). The stripes usually appear where there's a lot of the same color and usually on dark colors as you can see in the images below. Has anyone seen anything like this? Suggestions? It seems like a software issue since the stripes come and go in certain places like the Windows taskbar. Though, all my drivers are up to date and I haven't read about anyone having this issue before. Halp?
  11. Heyo! I've been thinking about building a NAS server for quite some time now but realised that it wont be possible right now due to space and noice issues since I'm currently still living with my parents but will move out soon (probably some small 1 room apartment so I would need to be able to sleep in the same room as the server in that case). So instead of a server, I think a manual hdd backup system would be better (right now anyway). The plan is to use some kind of dock where I can hotswap HDDs/SSDs to my main machine and laptop/other devices and do random and regular backups to the drives. The drives will then be stored in some kind of case where they can be safe from physical shock and other dangers so maybe some kind of padded aluminum case? The great thing about this is that it will be relatively cheap, super easy to upgrade and super secure as the backups would be stored super offline (and encrypted ofc) and could also be split up into another case which I can leave in another building or something to protect losses due to theft or fire, etc. Here come the questions: Are there any good Thunderbolt docks that you'd recommend that isn't too expensive or should I just get a USB 3 dock? Any good backup software that you'd recommend? What do you think of a system like this? Smart? Dumb? A better way to do it? Any prior experience? Peace!
  12. Cool! I do not. It will be running from my home and will mostly be for me but maybe also other users.
  13. Oh good ol' ssh. Is it really that simple? I'm paranoid about the open ports and such. Btw, what about encrypting the files on the server for multiple users, etc for preventing physical and remote file access? Maybe some nice web GUI?
  14. Heyo! I made a post a few days ago about possibly building my self a NAS. And ofc, it would be awesome if I could connect to it outside of my network. But ofc, I'm paranoid of some 1337 hacker melting the server and releasing my files into the cyberspace. Is there some "easy" solution for fileserver and general network security? Something else that I should look into? Thanks!
