  1. I'm about to return the monitor due to it presumably being faulty, but I'm worried that the issue may not lie with the monitor and rather something else? An image has been attached to this post displaying the issues I'm encountering with the monitor, it consists of horizontal lines which appear on the bottom-half of the screen and only after waking the monitor from sleep or turning the computer on, they do disappear after roughly five minutes of use. What makes this even stranger, these issues aren't present when using HDMI. My graphics card shouldn't be the issue either, it's an RTX 2080 and only one month old, it works fine on other monitors. Troubleshooting I have tried thus far with no avail. - Updating my graphics card drivers. - Using a different DisplayPort connection on my graphics card. - Purchasing a new DisplayPort cable. (Has support for DisplayPort v1.2, 2mm of length) - Using HDMI rather then DisplayPort (Presumably resolved the issue while using, doesn't work with Freesync/G-Sync + 144hz though) What's your thoughts on this, do you think the issues are due to the monitor, or is there something else that could be at play?
  2. No I haven't, I've only got as far as using compressed air to clean the dust out. I've never really touched any computer .
  3. Yeah, I'm using the stock cooler. If I were to change the only intake to an exhaust wouldn't it be worse?
  4. Hello, I've had this computer for one and a half years or so, only lately I've been monitoring them and damn are they hot. At idle I get 45c to 60c, right now I'm at 51c. During gaming I can get up to 85c, never seen it pass that mark since I lowered the amount my CPU can work at. In Cinebench R15, before I lowered the CPU work amount I would get 100c after two runs. I lowered the amount through Windows battery setting and set it to 90%. My air in my case is basically non-exsistant, intake from the back and exhaust through the top. Yep that means the air goes stright out, I bought it custom from a computer store didn't ask them where to put the fans since I thought they would've know better.... Guess not. Still the temps seem too high for bad air flow.
  5. I managed to boot now by using the 2nd BIOS, thank god my motherboard had that. But that's the issue, it doesn't have any other spare BIOS how would I fix the first one?
  6. I'm unable to even boot the computer at all, as in no display.
  7. I'm unsure if this is able to be fixed but anyway, before the issues started I updated my BIOS on my Gigabyte GA-H97-Gaming 3 to F7 which seems to be the cause of the issues. So after I did that my PC wouldn't boot, It was not able to boot the drive. So I formatted Windows which worked, to make sure I restarted my PC and yep all was good. So I start updating my drivers such as LAN, Chipsets and so on. So I restarted my PC and now the PC won't even display, one case fan is not moving, cpu fan is on and the graphic's card fans are on. I think I've broken the PC...... I did install the correct BIOS, Rev 1.0 same as my board
  8. I also tried the temperature test on a friends computer, they have the same specifications. They're also getting 100c while running Cinebench and 60c idle, instead of my 50 idle. His computer is slightly older though. ( Same stock cooler )
  9. Hello, I've been quite worried about my intel i7 4790 temperatures, while idle for roughly 1 hour it gets to 50c and when stressing the cores in cinebench R15 multiple times it even reaches 100c. I am using the stock cooler, and no overclocking exists on the CPU. I know the 50c is not much of an issue, but the 100c that's quite hot! During gaming I only get usually a max of 80c.
  10. If I go to lowest cost ATX motherboard that the store i'm looking at stocks, I'll only save $40 from the current board. $40 cheaper board is the Asus H170-Pro. It'll still cost $60 more then the Xeon system for the i7 6700 and the Asus board. It's a really hard choice lol, are there any benefits for Xeon chips as in rendering, computing or gaming? ( < Certainty not gaming! ). Someone said that the rendering for videos would be the same on the i7, if that's true there's no real point of the Xeon.....
  11. Yea, I'm happy with the motherboard, I prefer it over the i7 board actually. I don't have that option, it's either now or never. ( Don't want to explain the whole situation )
  12. I don't have the budget to afford a i7 6700K sadly, it's an extra $50 then the i7 6700 + the cost of the cooler, which will be $50 at least.
  13. I'm in a debate of what CPU to get, it's either the Intel Xeon E3-1230v5 or the i7 6700 ( Not K edition ). I mainly do gaming, but I do record and edit videos which apparently the Xeon is better for. Also the Xeon processor is $100 cheaper then the i7 6700 and it also has hyperthreading similar to the i7, only downside is the slightly lower clock speed. It the FPS difference that much to justify an extra $100? Also motherboard is not an issue, already found a gaming one for the Xeon, the E3 KRAIT GAMING V5. Thank you!
  14. I'm unsure if overclocking voids warranty, but I'm pretty sure it does. It'll likely do the last thing I do to the PC before I get a new one. Also the difference between a i7 6700 is quite big and for only $50 more. If I had any spare money I would go with that instead.
