Hi guys, this is my first time posting on the forums and i hope that you will be able to help me
so i have been an AMD user until now, i am going to change my system up due to some money coming my way and well just because i want to
my current system is as follows
CPU - AMD Phenom x6 1090t black edition
CPU cooler - Antec kuhler Flow cooler
RAM - G.skill 8GB
SSD - 240GB Corsair force
GPU - Gainward NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
Artic blue 850W psu
thats my current sytem give or take a few items i.e harddrive etc. ive built it over the course of time and is sort of my first build for my self that i game on
recently i decided that i wanted to upgrade and its been a while since i last looked for parts etc and my brain started to ache haha, after about 2 weeks of scouring and searching i think that i have a basic build for myself
here are the parts that i have come up with so far
Intel Core i5 4670k
MSI Z87-G45-gaming
Corsair Vengeance pro series 8GB
Corsair H100i
either the carbide 500r or nzxt phantom of some description still unsure
as for GPU im waiting until after AMD gpu unveil on 25th and then go from there but i am open to suggestions as long as its not ridiculous
what i would like to know from you knowledgeable bunch is, is this going to be a good system for me? i will be mainly gaming with some basic office work.
i play a variety of games such as BF3, LoL, ARMA 2 - 3, SimCity etc you get the picture i ideally would like to not spend more than about £220 on the gpu but if its worth the extra i may be able to stretch a little bit.
so again,
1. is this a good first intel build for myself
2. what would you change and why
you should also know aswell that i will not be overclocking straight away but i am contemplating having a dabble with it when i feel more comfortable hence the k series intel, ive also chosen haswell because i would ideally like to keep the system for about 2 years or more.
thanks for any response and please be gentle im new to the intel scene.
