Well I'm back, Didn't see much of the protests but I came to work early to be safe and there were almost no cars on the road... I imagine the protests were granted because it's the DA (The only political party worth voting for here) running the protests, Most people just assumed it was going to turn violent even with the police there because 90% of our protests end in deaths, assaults and/or looting and damage (At least from my experience anyway) Most people hate him because he's a corrupt puppet running South Africa into the ground and only got where he is now by piggybacking off of Mandelas legacy and as a result the majority of his voters come from the rural uneducated poverty stricken areas, they are being manipulated to vote for him because they don't know any better and think that other parties (Specifically the DA) are going to bring back apartheid which is obviously not the case. Fun Facts about Zuma: . Zuma has been to court for raping a woman and during the trials burst into song "Umshini wami", a song that loosely translates to "Bring me my machine gun" . Zuma claimed he had taken a shower after having sex to prevent himself from getting aids . Zuma has been openly homophobic stating that same-sex marriages were a taboo that should not be tolerated in any normal society and "When I was growing up, unqingili (homosexuals) could not stand in front of me, I would knock him out" . And last but not least our president can't even read out some numbers...

Well if I'm not active in this thread tomorrow then I probably haven't made it to work (No internet at home at the moment) But I don't think it'll affect the route I take to work... At least I hope it won't

My week has been going well but tomorrow will possibly be interesting, apparently there is going to be a national protest to make our president step down (One can only hope) and a lot of our main highways are going to be blockaded and knowing South Africa things will probably turn pretty violent... But I still need to get to work so wish me luck on not having stones thrown at my car

Yeah that's why I was so curious as to how the 7700 could offer such a significant performance jump over the 4790, I'm putting my money on the clock speed as being the most significant difference between the two when it comes to gaming alone.

Ahh that makes more sense, So only in high FPS (120FPS +) scenarios the newer processors show their true colors, I suppose on 60Hz screens that shouldn't be as big of a concern though, I wonder if it doesn't have anything to do with the clock speed difference between the 4790 (3.6Ghz up to 4Ghz) and the 7700 (4.2Ghz up to 4.5Ghz) I'd be curious to see how an overclocked 4790k compares to a 7700 clocked at the same speed... Know of any benchmarks regarding CPU Bottlenecks for the 1080? 30 - 40FPS sounds crazy high considering Intel hasn't exactly made any mind blowing advances in their Low - Mid Teir i7's performance, I mean the 7700 is only ~15% better and it's been 4 years since the i7 4790 was released, What CPU would better suite the 1080? $500 Processors and over like the 6800K?

Ahh, Just checked and you're right the MSI isn't as good an overclocker as Asus or Gigabyte, My bad. The Asus as you suggested seems to be the better bang for buck motherboard for overclocking

MSI 970 GAMING or as @Strike105X suggested the Asus 970 pro gaming aura, Both are $99
