Hi All,
I just got a new job and with this I am working from home at least 2 days a week. For my work I got a work laptop and sadly everything has to be done on the work laptop, due to safety concerns. Now when I wfh I do this on the same desk as where I have my own PC and I am looking for a way to easily make use of both my PC and Laptop and switch between them.
Now in my head I have 2 scenarios (I am open for other better solutions):
Scenario 1:
I buy a kvm switch, plug all peripherals into the KVM switch and then plug in the PC and the laptop when needed. Switch between them and use all the peripherals.
Scenario 2:
I buy a docking station plug this into one of my monitors and then dock the laptop when needed and switch input on the monitor I want to use. This way I will have to use the peripherals plugged into the laptop. With this scenario I will most likely use the laptops own keyboard and a cheap mouse.
I am quite new to this kind of thing so I am open to any and all suggestions, corrections and insights. These two scenarios were the first that came to mind for a clean setup but I am open to other setups.
I would love to hear from you all!
Thank you in advance,
Safa
