  4. If you are not doing serious computation (scientific computation), you don't need a "professional" card. If you do, you need a Tesla.
  5. But then when Volta comes out, you'll want to wait for whatever comes next for 4K 144fps. Then when that comes out you'll want to wait for the next next thing that can do 8K 60fps, ... ... Might as well just write a program that calculates "the next major resolution/FPS" to wait on your behave.
  6. So basically you are saying ultrawide has more value over G-sync in terms of gaming?
  7. Bought a 24 inch Acer R240HY several weeks ago. Pretty happy with it. It's selling for $130 right now on Amazon, which is $40 cheaper than when I bought it...
  8. No I don't think so either. Thanks for the reply~~
  9. The cheapest seems to be at $700, which is out-of-budget. Plus I heard that 1440p ultrawide has somewhat big FPS impact. So... maybe not... ... ...?
  10. Hi all, I need a monitor for my gaming PC. Having watched a lot of ultrawide reviews lately, I really want to have that wide view, but I also want G-sync. Ideally of course I'd buy an ultra wide with g-sync, but that's over $1k, and my budget is around $500. So now I can either buy an ultrawide without g-sync (I believe Dell has one 1080p for ~$500), or I can get possibly a 16:9 1440p monitor with g-sync for roughly same amount of money. Which one should I choose? And some other info: I've never experienced either ultrawide or g-sync, so I'm not sure how helpful they can be for me. I've been gaming at 1080p, so I also don't know what's it like to be at 1440p. I've mainly played games sub-60fps (I had a crappy graphics card), but I just bought a GTX 1080, so 60fps is no longer a luxury for me, and I'd be happy to stay at 60fps (no need for 144/100 Hz, I think). Thanks!
