I suppose I should start with saying that I currently own a Turtle Beach PX22 headset. My issue here is that they clamp too hard around my head (I have gotten many a headache in 2-3 years) and that I don't wear headsets 'the right way'. I like the mic to be on the right side of my face, so the audio is reversed. the quickest solution would be to simply reverse the audio and deal with the headaches, but I have found nothing that allows it for my specific headphones. Seeing as they are on the brink of breaking now, I'm looking for a possible replacement for them.There are a few features I need, and some I want as a bonus.
Needs
Reversible audio and mic arm so I can wear however it's most comfortable or at least have the mic naturally oriented on the right
Earcups that go around my ears, not on top
They don't clamp too hard on my head (something like the HyperX Clouds from the reviews I have seen and heard)
Separate chat and game volumes (so I can turn down my friends when I need to without muting my game/video)*
Bonus
Wireless
Mute mic button/slider (so I can mute myself in skype, for example, without going into the program itself to mute)*
Under $150 if possible (still post options that aren't that low so I have as many options as possible)
* If (and I assume so) other headsets can just be plugged into my old PX22 'amp', that already has these features, these are not necessary.
One final note is if you can't find a headset that meets my needs, but you know of a good (but not outrageously priced) combo of bare headphones + standalone desk/boom mic, please post. I will consider its, but as a last option.
