  1. I have razer peripherals and corsair case fans and ram Dont have my system yet its on order was just wondering if anyone has used it and if its any good? Thanks
  2. My pc is coming tommorow, I dont have a hdmi 2.1 cable yet. Will the 3080ti's hdmi port support an older hdmi cable for now on my 1080p tv? Lol sounds stupid I know
  3. Thats great thanks, might go with 4 for asthetical purposes then, at double the risk of a failure lol
  4. Hi, Does the msi mag z690 tomahawk support 32gb ddr4 quad channel ram at 3600mhz? 4x 8gb I know I can google this but I have tried and cant seem to find the details about quad channel ram Thanks Edit* It seems that it only supports dual channel, so would 2 x 16gb 3600 be ok?
  5. Ah right, now I actually understand the basic concept of it. Thanks for your help
  6. Ok thanks, I forgot to mention I will be using in game 400% upscaling and probably some sort of msaa in nvidia control panel. Would that bring the gpu back into play more or be the same?
  7. Hi everyone, looking to buy a pc very soon for a mix of 1080p and 4k gaming. I want to go with the 12700kf probably overclocked and the 3080ti just for the extra bit of power for flight simulator in 4k when I get to use the tv and when I upgrade my monitor later on. I will be playing a lot of 1080p though but according to this website there will be some huge bottlenecking going on. The scs software games I play such as American and euro truck simulator require strong single core performance, and are pretty cpu bound at 1080p I believe. So these articles by pcbuilds.com concern me. Would the 3080ti be hugely bottlenecked by the 12700kf at 1080p? Links below, thanks if you can help https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/result/1cl197/1920x1080/
  8. Thanks, I think im going to hang tight for a bit to see if these components go down a little with the new crop coming out. Budget is looking more like 1700 now so need to try and get good deals lol Thanks again for your help
  9. Ok thanks i'll take a look at that, finding it hard to target specific components due to these companies wanting to clear stock lol. I did want a ryzen but the i7 12700f looks great, picking the parts individually seems to be quite expensive which is a bit of a pain I found this prebuilt pc, is it any good? https://www.scan.co.uk/products/scan-performance-rtx-intel-core-i7-12700f-16gb-ddr4-10gb-evga-rtx-3080-1tb-m2-ssd-win-11-see-info Would the h610 chipset be a bottleneck? Also is it worth getting the 10gb 3080 when I could maybe get the 12gb? Thanks and sorry to be a pain
  10. Thats awesome info thanks, I could have easily bought the wrong cpu. It feels like a minefield, most components im about to settle on seem to be slated as overpriced or garbage lol It does seem like these custom pc companies are trying to get rid of stock that people dont want to buy
  11. Yes I dont want to build it myself, one from overclockers or cyberpower pc that type of thing
  12. Budget (including currency): £2000 Country: United Kingdom Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 4k Simulation games and AAA titles Hi all, looking for a new PC, ive been out of the game for nearly 10 years and am a bit unsure of whats what. I wont be building one myself just looking at prebuilt ones until I find the right one. I have seen a pc thats around £2000, Rtx 3080ti, i7 11700kf, 32gb ddr4 Very interested in this but the problem is the motherboard is an intel b560, which I just read isnt very good, but I have no idea. Any recommendations in terms of hardware for my budget for 4k gaming, happy to pay a little extra for the 3080ti just for that extra bit of performance, but dont know if I should wait for 4080? Or even consider amd?? Oh and single core performance is important as I play American truck simulator with polygon heavy mods Anything you guys could help with would be greatly appreciated
  13. Thanks, I just hope he can have a reasonable experience and not be too disappointed
  14. Hi guys my nephew wants an Oculus Quest 2 for christmas, he wants to run x plane in VR. He has an asus gaming laptop with a gtx 1650, 8gb of ram and I believe an i5 (sorry for the lack of info) Will his laptop really struggle with running VR? Thanks if you can help
  15. I might consider that actually, even though I want a physical copy of the old games too. I presume the old games are fairly cheap. At least I could play them on pc hardware like the old days, maybe a low end build might be the way to go. Ive got an asus p8z68 in an old coolermaster case with 8gb of ddr3 so could go from there maybe? Been a long time since I dabbled with pc stuff
  16. Yes I am planning a raspberry pi rig for some of my retro gaming, but my main goal is having original hardware and game boxes etc.
  17. Hi guys, its been an awfully long time since Ive been on here, please go easy on me if you can. Im trying to work out the best way to run Windows 95/98/MsDos games. Ive looked for old systems but they seem few and far between, they seem to be mainly on ebay which seems a gamble. I also considered scratch building using old parts which I would enjoy but I feel it may be pricy and a little tricky. An 8mb voodoo card is still expensive Also considered building a low end modern machine which I would really enjoy doing but I hear Dosbox isnt the best solution either. Really not sure what to do, would probably spend £150-200 on this as I also collect other retro system stuff too. Any advIce?
  18. Fixed, feel free to remove thread. Apologies and thanks ?
  19. Hi guys, Ive been using my snes mini just powered by the hdmi cable to the tv, as it doesnt come with an adaptor. Today I tried to sync it with hakchi to download new roms. I downloaded an older version of hakchi first and it didnt recognise my system at all. Then I realised my system would no longer power on. I installed the latest version CE, and the system powers on with a lot of trial and error and can operate within Hakchi. The issue is, it will only power on now through Hakchi, if Hakchi isnt running, the console just will not boot. Any help would be appreciated thanks
  20. If its ok, I might pm you in regards to advice about what tv to upgrade to in the future. I find it all a bit baffling to be honest
  21. Yeah thats a fair point. Ive never really been able to get a worthwhile 4k stream, im sure 4k bluray is way better. In that thought I suppose your right. My only real point against that idea is that netflix is real cheap and easy and it satisfies my needs to the point where Im not bothered about blu ray. But there again I am tempted now by 4k blu ray the more im thinking about it, I guess ive never seen how good it is.
  22. Yes your quite right but I was just speculating in conversation rather than asserting anything. Yes controller comfort is totally subjective, also people have different sized hands. I didnt enjoy the xbox controller after a couple of hours of gaming. I also found it to be very fiddly analogue wise compared to the ps controller. Also I found that it gathered crumbs and dust way more. But still a great controller, there arent many in my opinion. The n64 controller was hateful I didnt care about the blu ray at all, Ive never bothered with it, in fact I think its better because it kept the price down. I did however think that because its sonys speciality, they probably must have been a bit ashamed to announce it.
