  1. Sorry I'm a bit confused, What do I need to buy? Sorry if my question is complicated but basically what I want to do is play music to my speaker and sub from my phone. The speaker & sub have an RCA input on both.
  2. Hey all, I have some Edifier 1700BT that has an RCA input at the back, and I also have a Klipsch KSW-10 Subwoofer with the same input. My question is - how do I get both separate RCA cables (they both go to a 3.5mm jack from the Red & White that plug into both devices) to combine both L & R signals from both the Sub & Speakers, to go into a single 3.5mm jack into my phone to play music coming out of the speakers and the sub? Sorry if I'm being redundant, I'm trying to relay what I want to do as clearly as possible.
  3. Hey everyone. I am having an extremely frustrating time dealing with my new Surface Laptop 2. This problem started today when I woke up. I had shut down the machine prior to going to sleep, and when I woke up, it asked for the Bitlocker recovery key. Didn't think much of it, just shrugged and dismissed it as a bug. Now the problem is, every time I open my laptop after pressing the power button instead of closing the lid, it asks for the key. I have tried going into the UEFI settings, where I realized for some reason, TPM was not enabled, which was worrying. I couldn't enable it. I also tried to disable secure boot, but it still wanted the key. What can I do here to fix this? I'm not happy about this at all. Other than this, I love the laptop, but this is a major compromise.
  4. As in its hard to do over the forum? Or is there rules prohibiting you from helping?
  5. Hey all - at my school we have a Fortinet system installed. I've only ever bypassed this once, and gotten in trouble for it. I used TOR with bridges (I think I used either obfs4 or meek-azure). Most VPN's are blocked, does anyone have an idea of what will bypass this? Protocol names and perhaps a VPN suggestion will help a bunch. Thanks!
  6. Doesn't sound normal, but perhaps Anker has an agreement with Amazon & Newegg that it will ship out of the Amazon warehouse. Or maybe it was just the only package they had on hand... though that sounds funny.
  7. Budget is under 2000 CAD, weight isn't super important as long it is under 5 lbs. I would perfer at least 8 hours of battery life
  8. Hello everyone - I am looking for a laptop for school & light gaming (TF2 and other games like that) and I have narrowed it down to three choices. 1. MXP - i7 varient with the MX150 2. Legion - i7 varient once again with 1050ti 3. XPS 15 - FHD i7, 1050Ti. I have heard positive things from all of these latops, but also some negative ones. Apparently Dell has absolutely terrible quality control. I've also heard the MXP power throttles. What are your opinions on these, just a note that I will be repasting, undervolting, thermal padding and potentially adding copper shims no matter what. Thanks!
  9. Hey all, I have been commissioned by my Father to completely re-do our home audio. Currently, we have an old Yamaha Audio Receiver (forgot the model) hooked up to 6 speakers built in to the wall. The wiring is Class 2 wiring. What my Dad wants to do is be able to connect wirelessly. This by itself would have been easy, all I would have had to do is put in an adapter. But what he wants to do is have speakers outside and when he changes the song inside on his phone via bluetooth, it changes outside aswell. I am a little lost as in how to do this. The speakers outside would be bluetooth. I was looking at this: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B075J4RKGH/ref=twister_B075N7RDQX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I'm not sure if that would do it, so my question is, how can I do this and what should I use to do it. Price isn't really an issue but try to keep it below $1000. Thanks!
  10. Hey there, So yesterday I accidentally plugged in my GPU while the system was running.. long story. Anyways, all that happened was my PC “turned off” then came back on again. I’ve been using it playing games and everything seems normal, but I was wondering if there could be any long term effects that could follow. Thanks!
  11. Yes - the RX 480 should be able to handle it if the settings are not on Ultra. I recommend going on YouTube and looking at different benchmarks.
  12. Hi there, I started up my PC today, and one of my case fans started making a weird noise. (I have the video attached) It eventually fixed itself over time, going from 400rpm to 1200. I have some concerns about this and would like to know if there is anything I can do to fix it. I also have noticed that one of my AUX connectors on my Mobo have... varying temps. Going from -120C to 120C. Any feedback is appreciated! Hopefully my screenshots and videos can show what is going on better than I can tell. IMG_0491.MOV
  13. Get the 1080 Ti, there is a pretty good boost, as mentioned by @nerdslayer1
