A friend of mine dropped his laptop and it will not turn on. I’ve taken some steps to troubleshoot the problem but I still have not found it. It is an acer aspire r13. He dropped it on the side and the screen is cracked but this is not the problem. I can charge the laptop fine, but when I press the power button the led light turns on for a brief moment then turns off. The fan does not start and it is not the hard drive. What else can I do to figure out the problem?

Yes, and when I uninstalled the driver for the audio, on reboot I saw my microphone working, but then it disapeared again from the recording menu in sounds. I turned off auto driver update, but It has reinstalled anyways

I have windows 10 installed and it is not detecting my headset. The headphones work just fine, but not the microphone. I do not get the prompt to pick that it is a headset and windows defaults to headphones. I cannot open the Realtek audio manager to change this either. When i run the file, nothing opens up. I have tried reinstalling the drivers already, but that did not work.

I never had this problem until recently. Whenever I plug my headset into my laptop when I am out and about, the built in microphone is the only one detected. It is a single port for headphones and a microphone. In the recording devices window it shows Realtek HD Audio, but it is the built in mic. There is no other microphone detected. I have reinstalled the drivers and tried a full reset of windows. I do not believe it is the port, because the headphone still work, and my adapter is not the problem, because it works just fine with my Xbox One. Also, I cannot open the Realtek Audio Manager, there is no error, it just doesnt open

I found a fix for the cpu it is no longer stuck at 800 MHz but the ram is still an issue Here is how for anyone wondering

This morning I did a refresh on my system already (keeping all files) because my ethernet port was not working. I dont think this would bring any new light to the situation.

Counter Strike, LoL Plugged in

I have a laptop I bring with me when I go to lan parties or whatever when I do not want to haul my desktop around. Yes, I know this is not a high end laptop, I play very low demanding games on it. It ran everything i needed it to perfectly until I ended up doing a fresh reset on it and it has been acting strange. These are some screenshots while a game is being played. My cpu is not going close to what it should, and my ram is not all being used. The power options is not the problem i have it set to high performance. My drivers are all up to date. My games are getting around 30-40 fps. Does anyone know what the reasoning for this is, or is it time to get a new laptop for these events? Edit: It is not a temperature problem as shown here.

This is my pc I built it myself, and I was thinking of letting it go for around $700. Is this asking price too high? I want to know before I make any posts because if it is too unreasonable I want to know. If this price is too low what if I threw in this monitor (also used)? Cyber Monday is coming up, but I don't know if I will sell it by them, but it would be nice. I have not overclocked anything so stress on the pc is minimal. And i haven't used if for around 4 months, so it has just been sitting.

I want to upgrade the processor, but if I do take that route then I am not sure if I should switch to team red. If it would be worth it to buy a new motherboard and processor.

I got an iphone 6 for my friend because he only has a 4 so I thought I would give him an upgrade but i got it off of ebay and it has an activation lock. I have looking for ways all day to fix it and I stumbled upon some websites that did it. Is that the only way? Paying some shady website to unlock it? The owner with the old password had not responded when I asked him if he would unlock it.

My friend's pc keeps black screening when he is playing a game. Its mainly really cpu intensive. I had him download cinebench to see if it would crash while it was running. It is a prebuilt pc so im thinking it is the power supply. It happens when there is a lot of power draw on the pc. A lightweight game does not make the game crash. He has an i7-6700k not oc.

I would like a nas mainly for storing pictures. A lot of pictures. Im not knowledged when it comes to picking out a nas and i have a max budget of 100 usd. If any other questions are needed feel free to ask.
