  1. Is CAM really that bad ?, I have seen some discussions saying it's not as bad as it used to be. Coz the cooler is pretty good (plus I will be doing push pull)and the RGB will look great in the 5000D.
  2. What if I throw the Kraken X73 360 into the mix. How does it stack up against the rest ?
  3. I think I will stick with the Corsair option coz I like the header style, and change the push fans to LL120's and the pull fans to the Arctic P12 PWM fans. What do you guys think ?
  4. I don't think air coolers will be a good option, coz the RAM I have chosen is too tall and I have used Air coolers before and I want to experience AIO.
  5. Deciding on the cooler is hard, what's even harder when there's not much content online on what your looking for. I am looking to get a AIO CPU cooler and I have been recommended the Corsair H150i iCUE elite capilex. I can't find any good comparisons on how this cooler performs against the EK 360 Elite D-RGB or the Arctic freezer II 360. I have heard ML fans on the Corsair are loud. Basically I'm looking to cool a i7 - 12700K under normal workloads (gaming and ANSYS )
  6. Thank you for the very informative reply. So if I'm talking about Intel CPU's the only limiting factor of memory XMP in respect to the CPU is the "K" and non "K" version, as in the K will allow me to activate XMP and the non K would not ? For example if I have an i7 10700, this would not let me run the advertised 3600MHz XMP profile ?
  7. Hi All, This might be a very generalized question but I need some help understanding RAM. I build PC's as a small side thing to earn some money since I lost my job, and I want to give better products to my customers. I feel I have a general understanding about RAM but I need to know how to chose the correct RAM set up depending on the CPU and motherboard. The i9 9900K CPU for example says it's using 2666 memory type. So does that mean if I get a motherboard that supports upto 3200, and RAM at 3200 I won't be able to XMP it to 3200 ? Another thing is channels, I don't get what determines the amount of channels. Please explain to me how RAM channels work and what determines it, how do I go about choosing RAM and motherboards when It comes to channels. Do I get 4*8gb to make 32 or do I get 2*16gb. Real world example: I got the Asus prime B560 and i9 10900kf for a workstation build few weeks ago and I wanted to put in 64 GB and I put in 4*16 (crucial 2666 16gb) but I was not sure if that motherboard or CPU can use the quad channel setup that I put in or is it using 2 dual channels to read the 4 ram sticks. Another instance is I put in 4*16 of 3200 RAM, but I could only XMP it to 3000(b460 & i7 9700). I hope you guys understand what Im trying to get at. Please feel free to ask any questions to help me understand. This is the largest, PC tech community that I know of so I need your guidance. Thank you in advance
  8. Thanx for the reply, but I'm not looking for 4k displays I just need 2k and I really want something that give the best color quality second only to OLED screens, and which comes natively at something above 60 hertz. I want to know what is the best I can get for below 500
  9. Hi everyone, I have been trying to buy a decent monitor for some time now as an upgrade from my BenQ VZ2350 display I bought in 2017 but I need help from some who knows more about displays. So I don't really mind about response time as I don't play FPS games, more into RDR2, Tomb Raider and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077. All I want is a sharp, crystal clear display that has really good contrast and black levels, and has to be 1440p with high DPI. Something above 60hertz refresh rate would be nice. Basically something that can do justice for the RTX 3080 graphical detail, all in all good color reproduction. I don't want to spend more than 500 USD on it either, that's why I need help with this. So far I checked the BenQ EX2780Q. Thank you in advance
  10. I mentioned $360 left, but i dont want to use all that for the GPU, want to keep it to upgrade some other stuff probably. For just the GPU can i make do with $250. I checked out online the: 1. msi gtx 960 4gb 2. XFX R9-380X-4DB
  11. If its not too much trouble, i would also like to know from people who actually have these cards. The temps, if they heat up or if they are noisy. And how the perform with the most demanding games. And here is my pre picked set of parts from PCPartpicker. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/fKFfvV And thank you everyone for taking the time to tell me these things
  12. With everything, but minus the GPU i have about $360 left.
  13. Please help. I'm planning on building a $1000 gaming rig and I need some help deciding the GPU, as in to go with AMD or Nvidia and why. So far this is what I thought of : 1080p, 60fps. Decided on a processor (i5 6500 3.2Ghz). Want to play games like GTA 5 and Witcher 3 on high to ultra. (These games should be around 40 to 60 fps). Strictly gaming, no need for DVD drivers but will need a WiFi card. Thank you in advance
