  1. Is it even possible to achive? I connected the screen to my motherboard's dvi connector with dvi-d duallink, and i'm not getting 144hz, it's stuck at 60.
  2. That's probably correct, will check this.
  3. That's odd, the only thing i can think of is that your pricing might be too high.
  4. Just to be sure, will any graphics card with a displayport allow me to run in 144hz if i buy something used?
  5. Thanks for the help. I'm gonna save my money for that or the 1050Ti. Also gonna ask some people i know if they have a spare card with a displayport on.
  6. I'm no expert, but that is very overkill for a NAS. I'd reccomend buying a skylake i3 or lower end i5 along with a b150 or similar motherboard. Potentially you could sell the parts you have now to get some extra cash (if you dont have anything else to do with them).
  7. I am aware of that it wont run most games. But i play team fortress 2 competitively, and thats pretty much all i play. I have tested before and can get solid 180 fps in this game.
  8. Ok, sorry for the clickbait. There is nothing wrong with using displayport for 144hz screens. Anyway, here's my situation: i just bought a 144hz screen, i have no gpu (using the integrated 530 gpu), and my motherboard does not have a dp port. I have a dp cable. And this is the issue: i want to be able to play at 144hz refresh rate obviously. So what is the best way to get a dp port? Are there expasion cards that will allow me to plug it in and use my integrated gpu? Or is the best bet a new gpu(r9 380 or something newer)? Pretty much any gpu that has a dp on it will do (as long as it's not ugly af). If you want to give suggestions on gpu's, please only ones under 180$. Thanks!
  9. For looks I'd reccomend Cryorig H7 Edit: Or any cheap Cryorig will do it
  10. Yep 1060 6gb is too expensive for me.
  11. isn't 8gb overkill for 1080p? And it's more expensive than rx480 with 4gb?
  12. As the title says, i'm looking for the best performing cpu in this range for gaming and 1080p video editing. Not planning to overclock. I am however getting a cpu cooler for good looks and silent performance
  13. Ok, i'm stupid. Let's redo this. I'm looking at these different cards(Price comparison): Base(other prices compared to this, difference translated from my currency to dollars): rx 480 Nitro+ 4gb msi 970 4gb (~$25 cheaper) r9 390 nitro 8gb (same as 480 4gb) msi 1060 3gb (same as 480 4gb) rx 470 nitro+ 8gb (~$25 more expensive) I'd rather go for one of the cheaper options, but i included some more for diversity and i'm insecure if it's worth to buy a last gen card from eigher side. My motherboard supports crossfire but not sli. However i don't think i will be getting a 2nd card anyway due to the differences in how games scale if they even do it at all. If i need to upgrade i will just buy a new, higher end card.
  14. Going for the rx 470 then, The nitro verison seems to be the way to go for me.
  15. Thanks for the replies, I will give some info that can make the desicion easier. -In my country they cost the same -I only do 1080p with a single monitor.
  16. Currenty looking to pick up one of these for a new rig, but cant find anything online comparing the two cards as of writing this, if you see something or know something please reply Btw take not it's the 3gb 1060 variant im asking about.
