Hello peps! I am planning to build my first NAS and I have been trying to get good solid information online but I have not been successful. I really just want the general requirements to building a NAS and the things that people usually get stuck on.
My prefered requirements for the NAS are:
initial 2-4TB of usable storage
to run RAID 1 (I have looked at videos on RAID and this seems to be the best for me, also I dont know what hardware you need for this)
ethernet connection
run FreeNAS (from what I have read this is the best software yes?)
The NAS is mainly going to be used for media files like movies, music and pictures and a few other generic files types so the whole network can upload and access these files.
What would you people recommend that I get hardware wise for this type of setup? A full list would be much appreciated!
