  1. I will be leaving home soon and though I have a decent PC at home(2700 & RTX 3060), as I will be out of my country and most likely living in dorms or shared spaces, I am planning to get a laptop. I will be running multiple VMs on Hyper-V for Kubernetes lab. So, my main priorities are powerful CPU, 32 GB RAM, good display (VERY IMPORTANT) and portability. Sadly my budget is around 1200$. I can get a used XPS 9500 for around 1000$. Should I go for that or should I look for something else? I never enjoyed using Macbooks. Should I just buy the XPS 9500 (4K display, 32 GB Ram) and change the battery in the future if needed? Please help me out if you are aware of anygood laptop that meets my requirements. Thanks
  2. 14-16 inch. Location: USA or Australia (I live in Bangladesh, I have people there to buy it for me and send it to me. Budget less than 1500 USD.)
  3. I am looking foward to buy a laptop this black friday. I work on devops. I am looking for a laptop with 2K 120Hz display with a good keyboard. I don't care about gaming neither want to spend money on a highend GPU. But when I am searching for laptop with a good display all I am finding is gaming laptops. I have my eyes on Asus G14(2022). But the GPU will be a waste of money for me. Can you guys please suggest me a good laptop. Thank you.
  4. I need to benchmark CPU usage, network throughput, latency. I am thinking about making AN API on multiple languages that takes a number and return its fibonacci number. Then I want to track laterncy, speed and cpu usage. I am thinking about using Apache Jmeter. I dont know how to use it, I am working on it. But is it a good way to benchmark a system or Cluster?
  5. It is better to set up with a domian and SSL. try using Nginx Proxy Manager on docker to manager your Domain and SSL easily. You can use Cloudflare for additional security. If you are using cloudflare proxy to hide your IP, implement a local DNS server that forwards your local DNS queries to the Proxy server. It will reduce latency and maintain local network speed.
  6. Can somebody please give me some ideas about benchmarking Kubernetes clusters? I want to compare different Kubernetes services from different cloud providers.
  7. My laptop doesnt have an ethernet port. Wifi only. Good suggestion. I will try with an adapter maybe.
  8. I use linux mint on my laptop and use ssh from my pc to do various tasks. After installing the latest version of mint, I installed ssh server from apt. The problem I am facing is, the ssh session is laggy. I have tried multuiple ssh cleint and even resinstalled the server and even reinstalled the OS. but the problem persisted. When I try to connect to a server a from my laptop using ssh it worls fine. So I dont think I have any netwrok issue. It is kind of like the screen updates after a few second after typing stuff.

  10. please check the second photo that I attached with my post. How can I stop my system from reserving storage?
  11. ZFS info Node's Info VM's hardware snapshot the backup is on a NFS share
  12. According to the site I was supposed to get 2.8 TB after formatting and I am getting that space. No problem there. But, My Virtual disc's size is 1.4 TiB which is 1.6TB and it is using 2.57 TB of my space. This is a proxmox thing I guess.
  13. I have a proxmox server with 4 of 1 TB HDD in ZFS-1 cluster. I wanted to make a nextcloud server, so when I tried to make a virtual disk that takes full available storage I failed. Later I was able to make a 1.46TiB disk but It Used 2.57TB. Is this some kind of bug? or something related to storage system or VM disk that I dont know about ? My proxmox version 6.3 My Local ZFS
