I built a PC a couple months ago (see part list) and from time to time it will just completely lock up. The screen freezes , no blue screen or auto restart, and I have no ability to use my mouse or keyboard. The only way to return to normal operations is to do a hard reset by holding the the power button. I should note that the LED's & fans are still running even after the freeze.
It appears that the freeze most commonly occurs when the GPU is under load and I ALT-TAB to my browser. However it will also occur when the GPU is under load and no other programs are running in the background. This freeze probably happens once a day or every other day.
I have tried a couple things to troubleshoot the problem but had no success.
Things I have tried:
I have been monitoring temps and both my GPU and CPU are around 40C when the freeze occurs.
Ran a memory test overnight. Returned no errors
CPU Stress Test
GPU Stress test
BurnIn test
Removed and Reinstalled graphics driver
Updated Bios
HDD Tests
Removed HDD and ran everything off SSD
Ran a quick check of my components to make sure my PSU was adequate.
Do you guys have any suggestions to troubleshoot the problem?
Thanks in Advance!
