'fixed' it in the dumbest way possible - reseating it around 5 times computers, gotta love 'em thanks for the help everyone

I've checked against the manual - they were wrong initially. M2.1 has the NVMe, M2.2 is empty (wifi), M2.3 had the crucial. I checked it with my laptop boot M.2, and it ran just fine. So confused, drive and port both work, so why not together?

Yeah I've tried swapping them around too. I have read the manual, doesn't say anything about sharing lanes or anything like that - only that using Thunderbold will disable M.2 sata, which I'm not using

Update: Its working fine in my Dell Inspiron Gaming Laptop - I'm copying data over now so that's a positive! However, I would still like to keep using my drive in the main PC rather than buy a new one lol

Just did unfortunately, still nothing. About to put in my older laptop to confirm it's not dead, will report back!

Old one was a 1920X, new one is a 3900X

Hi guys, I have a Crucial MX500 Sata based M.2 SSD that I've been using for a year or so now in an Asus X399-A, and has been working fine. I just swapped systems, and have installed it into an AsRock Phantom Gaming 4 (X570) in slot M2.3 (M2.1 taken up by an NVMe boot drive, works fine) however the Crucial isn't showing in bios, windows, or anywhere. It has a green light on it that it illuminated, so it's definitely connected fine. The wierd thing is, moving it back to the X399 board also now yields the same result - it doesn't show. I have three other drives in SATA ports that are also working fine. For reference, BIOS states that M2.3 is unoccupied. I remember I had issues initially when installing this drive in the X399, but overcame them somehow, and hadn't had any issues since. Has anyone experienced something like this, or know how to fix it? I'm about to pull my hair out! ? I'm 99% certain the drive is working fine, I had it going in my other system less than 24 hours ago

I am planning on getting a new PC in the next wee bit, so that's something I guess! I do actually pay for the adobe suite, but I may grab some free software to fill in for now lol

Yeah so I've read. Cutting out the frame isn't really an option, as it's for a continuous 'lets play style' series of videos. Plus it happens in most episodes of said series. In your opinion would a fresh install of windows or new hardware (GPU for example) fix the issue?

Hey all, Wondering if anyone has any experience in solving the red frame on export problem that seems to have plagued Premiere for a long time. Here's my situation: Rendering a 40-60 minute video daily for a youtube series, simple project with one video/audio clip, and 10 second JPG overlays every 4 minutes. 1080p, 60fps in H264. Source files are 1080p, 60fps MP4s. If the video is over 50 mins (ish) Premiere will export red frames near the end of the video, sometimes for only a few seconds, sometimes for 5 minutes. I've tried many solutions (that sometimes works for one export) but it always comes back. Doesn't do it for shorter 15-20 min videos that I also do. I've tried: Disabling accelerated H264 decoding, disabling GPU encode all together, clearing media cache, reinstalling entire CC suite + using the cleaner tool, copying work to a a brand new project, and just re-rendering, rendering in both ProRes and DNxHR, nothing works permanently (or at all now, it seems). Hardware: Windows 10, Intel Core i5 7300hq, 16GB RAM, GTX1050ti, SATA SSD, Latest Premiere Pro CC I'm loosing my mind!!!! Would appreciate any help or tips people had. Cheers!

Hmm. It's possible but I'm not sure what the state of those Lenovo's are - whether they have the slots and whether I can be bothered finding some A dual socket is kinda fun lol. But obviously bigger, more power draw, louder

Hello friends - I'm looking to get a budget system to do some video editing/rendering, and I've got a few options of which I can't decide what way to go. My current system is a Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming laptop, with a Core i5 7300HQ, 16GB RAM, and a 1050ti. While it does well in games, it struggles even when scrubbing through 1080p/60 video (which is mainly what I need to edit), and when it's rendering I can't really do anything else. So, I'm looking to pick up an older second hand server or something to either just render, or edit on as well if it does well. So here's the options I have (prices in canadian rupees): A Dell Precision T3500 workstation, with a Xeon W3550 (4c/8t 3Ghz), 12GB DDR3 and an old Quadro FX580 - $200 A Lenovo ThinkCentre, with a Core i7 3770, 8GB DDR3, no GPU. - $249 OR a custom server with 2x Xeon E5520 (4c/8t 2.26Ghz ea.), 24GB DDR3, no GPU - $325 Obviously with this kind of work 'more cores = good', but I'm wondering since the Xeons are pretty old and low clocked it might not be worth it. Has anyone had any experience with these or give any recommendations?

Hi guys, I'm going crazy over this and need some help! I got a Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567 over the weekend, and am wanting to install my 1TB SSD (Crucial MX200) into the free 2.5" bay from my old desktop. The problem is, it doesn't detect it. Not in the Bios (that I can see), not is disk management, nothing. I've tried everything I can think of!!! I've changing Bios to AHCI, tested the SSD in a different PC (works), tested a different SSD in the laptop (Intel 80GB, works), but still nothing. I converted in to MBR in my other desktop to try that, but didn't do anything. Has anyone had a problem like this or have any more ideas? I don't know what else to try!! Thanks in advance.

Hi all, So last year I built my friend a super budget gaming PC for his birthday as he's at university and only had a laptop for gaming. We managed to make a Q6600 PC with 8GB of DDR2, an SSD, HDD, and a R9 270x. It's been going well but either the CPU is dying or it just can't handle it, expecially in games like GTA V (what we would play mainly) where discord will drop it and the game itself is nearly unplayable with framerate drops in cpu intensive times and textures that don't load etc. So we're thinking of replacing it, but i'm wondering what the best idea will be. We have the choice of: Replacing the Q6600 with a Q9550 or Xeon E5462 for about $30-$50 NZD, or just replacing the CPU, board, and RAM with something like a G4560, a stick of DDR4, and the cheapest LGA1151 board we can find for maybe $300 NZD. Anyone got any thoughts or ideas on this? Thanks!

I'm in NZ so easiest brands to get are ASUS, Gigabyte, and Sapphire. Could import an XFX model, would it be worth the trouble?

That's what I'm looking for. I'm considering either doing that or changing to a still small but larger mATX case. What do you think would provide better results? Similar price I imagine if I had to sell my 390x

Hi all, so I have currently have a Sapphire Tri-X 390X that I have moved from my old PC into my new one, which is in a Silverstone ML07, a very small case. The card gets too hot and loud for my liking, so I'm considering replacing it with a similar power level card with a lower TDP and greater power efficiency. I was thinking a Rx 480, as I have a freesync monitor and would prefer to keep the benefits of that. Do you think it would make much of a difference? Ty!

That's not a bad idea actually, perhaps I should. It's reaching about 85c on load, I've got it in a Silverstone htpc case so it doesn't have a ton of room. However it does have 2 bequiet silent wings pulling air out next to it so I expected a bit better! I've got a third to put in, however the stock amd cooler is to high and it won't fit! Don't want to buy a short one until I get my Zen chip though....

Hey all, I'm thinking about upgrading my GPU and I'm wondering whether it's worth jumping for a 1080 or waiting for a Ti or even Vega down the line. I'm currently running a 390x, but it gets super hot and loud in my small case and doesn't give me the performance I want (I remember the days of my GTX 780 where I could max everything :p). I'm also using a Asus mg279q which is a 1440p freesync monitor, I realise I'd loose the freesync option with an Nvidia card but I think I'd prefer the raw fps over it. What do you guys think? Is a 1080 worth it over a 390x if I'm loosing freesync aswell? Or should I just wait?

Hi, I have a problem with a new PC I'm putting together. It won't post, and I dont have a speaker to here beeps to diagnose it. My new case doesn't have one either. I'm currently breadboarding it with just the PSU, board, cpu and ram, and no luck. Turns on but cpu fan spins at 100℅ and nothing happens on screen. Does the same if the RAM is removed. The cpu is second hand from a reputable seller, while motherboard and psu are brand new. Ram is confirmed working in another PC. Specs: AMD A10-7870K, ASROCK A68M-ITX, Silverstone SFXL 700w, Kingston Hyper x 1*8gb ddr3. I'm stumped, thoughts?
