  1. Thanks for your help! I wasn't able to access my desktop at all so I had to restore from a flash drive. Everything works now. For some reason though the update also corrupted my dad's computer. Same thing is happening to a lot of my friends. Microsoft really screwed up here. I lost all of my work
  2. My computer jumped off a cliff during a system restore. I can't do anything on it anymore...
  3. So here are some of the symptoms I am experiencing. 1: first once I downloaded the new windows update my computer began to freeze up about twice per day. I checked all my drivers and they seemed up to date. I didn't think too much from it. 2: I started to notice my wifi would disconnect randomly, forcing me to restart my computer to reconnect. I started to worry here. 3: my computer began taking an insane amount of time restarting, the longer it took the hotter my CPU got and the louder my fans ran. My CPU reached 70 degrees when it normally tops out at 54. 4: my computer will no longer shut down on it's own. It gets stuck shutting down and cannot finish. 5: My most recently played games were removed with files corrupted due to this mess... 6: Now I experienced my first BSOD DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE during a system shut down. At the moment my computer is hardly usable and I'm unsure what to do to fix it. I might need to reinstall Windows again. None of this was happening untill the new windows update dropped.
  4. Bump... Really want to try and fix this! Please help! The problem is persisting...
  5. Bump. Still having the issue! Purchased a TPlink USB WiFi adapter and it will arrive in a few days. Still need a real solution though.
  6. Hello! Recently I have had a few BSOD's concerning my drivers and networking device. At the moment I can't seem to sustain an internet connection for any longer than 5 minutes. Let me explain... Yesterday I experienced about 4 PC freezes when playing games online. At first I just thought it was SCUM (a new early access title) that was causing the freezing. Then I decided to play another game Elder Scrolls Online and began experiencing these same freezes. At which point I began getting BSOD's. Here are the error codes: BUGCODE_NDIS_DRIVER SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION I couldn't run my computer for more than 5 minutes without getting those crashes so I decided to reinstall windows. After a fresh reinstall I manually updated all of my drivers from the manufacturer websites. Now I am not experiencing any more BSOD's (for the moment). What I am now experiencing is a little more confusing... I am unable to maintain a WiFi connection. WiFi issue: When I log into my windows account I am able to maintain a fast connection for 5 minutes before my network drops on my computer (WiFi is working fine on every other device) when I click on my network icon on the bottom right of the screen my computer starts a network search but cannot find any network. It simply says "No internet". However after a computer restart the connection comes back at full strength but cuts out again after about 5 minutes consistently. I'm not quite sure how to go about fixing this issue so any help I can get would be seriously appreciated
  7. Yes I am, it was one of the listed fixes from 2014 but ill try to see if that makes any difference once I return home today.
  8. As stated above yes, I wish it were that simple lol.
  9. Yea the menu has been disabled, could you elaborate on the driver?
  10. The HDD is only a year old and all my other games (including BF1&BF3) run perfectly on it. It's not the internet connection because I see the framerate drop from 200 to 5 suddenly. When I play the game without recording video the problem persists. It's no better when I record or don't record. Same performance with the software disabled. It's not the resolution because I brought it down to 720p and it still had the same issue. Something is wrong with the actual game, not sure where to begin but this was a large problem during its PC launch.
  11. WARNING: PG-13 language used in the video. As you can see, in the video I am having major FPS loss. I know this is an old topic but, I tried fixes from 2014. Source http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2390044/battlefield-fps-drop-stuttering-lag-fix.html It has nothing to do with in-game settings, I fiddled with everything including v-sync. The frames only seem to drop when I shoot a gun at a high rate of fire OR if an explosion happens near me. I reinstalled the game 2 times with no change. The game is barely playable in its current state, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Im running: 6850k @3.6ghz Founders edition GTX TITAN XP 64gb Gskill Ripjaws @3200mhz (4 dims) I'm sure we can rule a gear bottleneck out
