Hi all. I'm running Windows 8.1 on my laptop and I have been since I bought it in February last year. When updating Windows through the standard Windows Update, everything was fine. However, when Windows 10 was released, and I went to claim my copy, I was unable to update to Windows 10, and since then, I have been unable to update anything on Windows 8.1. The window either completely goes white (as shown below), freezes when i click to attempt to get to Windows Update (also shown below) or on the rare occasion in which I get to Windows Update and press the "Install Updates" button, the window again freezes. This has been a long going problem of mine and I have attempted various solutions that I have managed to find but to no avail; any help is appreciated. Edit: 5 mins after posting my update window has actually unfrozen which is nice, but the problem continues as it says the update has started but nothing is actually downloading.

Forking out an extra £11 is no problem at all, and honestly that build looks awesome. Thanks to all of you for your help

That looks brilliant, thanks a bunch! My only minor concern is the hard drive space but I think upgrading to a 1TB HDD from 500GB would take minimal effort. Thanks again

What size is best if I was to use a small SSD as a boot drive? Would 120GB suffice?

Around £800; your various recommended builds do look excellent but I'm not sure about the price conversion as parts seem to be more expensive in the UK.

I've never actually built a rig before but I'm looking to build something that can ease past 60 fps in most new AAA titles at at least 1080p. Whilst looking to stick to a low budget (without peripherals) can any improvements be made to this parts list? Thanks http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/FBPGcc
