  1. So in your opinion can this psu last me another few years?
  2. I just looked on Antec's website for my psu. It states it is Haswell ready. Also I reused "such old parts" because I already spent $1500 on my upgrade, I don't want buy more unless it is necessary. But thank you for your input, I didn't know about that Haswell requirement on the psu
  3. Well when I built it last night, everything turned on, lights and fans. The only issue was that the ez debug light was on for cpu, so it wouldn't even post. So I rma'd both the cpu and mobo. Waiting on return of parts
  4. Ok thank you very much, I just didn't want my new parts to fry if it goes on the fritz.
  5. I am in the process of waiting for my new parts, had to rma the cpu and motherboard, and I was wondering if I need a new psu. I have an Antec TPQ 1200w psu silver grade, works fine, but it's 6 years old. I didn't know if I run the risk of damaging parts if it stop working. Parts list: msi pro carbon x370 Ryzen 1600x Corsair 780T Evga 1080ti ftw3 1 128gb ssd 1 1tb had 1 external 3 tb hdd Sound blaster z sound card Noctua dh14 heatsink Corsair ddr4 16gb 3000mhz Thanks in advance
  6. Out of curiosity, which ti would you go with that is under $780 usd
  7. Thanks for the response. The asus strix is a bit out of the price range seeing as the ti is already really expensive for me. Do you have any knowledge of the gigabyte problems? As far as I know it performs the best and it is the quietest. Also I don't really need to oc the ti yet since I am only doing 1440p
  8. Hi, I was interested in getting gigabyte's 1080 ti extreme but I was noticing that some people were giving it 1 star due to quality control for the fans or coil noise. Is this still an issue plaguing the card or is it safe to buy now?
  9. So my 2nd 7970 is disabled in crimson. again. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Yesterday it was working and today, after i plugged in 2nd monitor it doesn't. There is also no xfire option in global games settings so I am not understanding what I am doing wrong.
  10. I can wait a little bit to grab the paste. I don't NEED the extra card this very second, dark souls 3 runs at 60 on low-med So it can do for now. I wasn't even expecting to have a second card, my boss bought a 1080 and had no use for his 7970 so he just gave it to me (still in shock). I was planning on doing a whole new build with 1080 and 144hz monitor and the works, but I think I can squeeze an extra year or two with this extra card, wait for hbm2 or something better than 1080.
  11. Thanks! Very helpful. What would happen if I didn't apply new thermal paste, don't think I have any atm?
  12. ah okay. ill try tomorrow after work to see if I can flip it. You wouldn't know off hand where the screws to remove the heatsink are would you? Sorry I feel like a novice when it comes to my own rig because I don't want to mess anything up. nevermind, I looked it up and I need to remove the center fan of the heatsink to get to the screws.
  13. This is what I'm working with inside the case. Please ignore the lack of cable management, when it was build 4 years ago, I didn't know much. And thank you for the info about quoting
  14. Yea I believe so, the only slot on the mobo that can possibly fit the 2nd card is the bottom one, and that is too close to psu.
