  1. This is what happened. Before I changed anything, except for changing it to DOCP1/EXPO1 and I had 3200 and 1600. Aida 64 showed latency of 86. When I did Passmark Performance test, it had a lantency of 56 and the graph said I was in the top 80% of memory in their database. After I changed the UCLK to 3200 and changed the FCLK to 2133 (UMLK/1.5) the system booted but Aida64 struggled to work and than gave me a latency score of 241 and the ram numbers for speed were crazy. Passmark Performance test showed latency at 76 percent and the ram was now in the 56% are in their data base. I tried to run the stress test in Aida 64 but it kept causing the pc to crash. Then just turning on the pc it would crash. So I updated to the latest bios. Set the UMLK and UCLK to 3200 each, didnt mess with the FCLK this time. Tried the Aida64 for performance test again and still high latency 76, but did not try its stress test this time. I think something is wrong with Aida64, not working well with my system. I did the Passmark Performance test again and now the latency is 49 and the ram is in the top 96% in their database. I tried using Y-Cruncher but it would not launch. I used Burn in Test by Passmark and it went for 57 cycles 4mins and no errors. I will do longer tests later.
  2. Thanks, oh what about the TRAS number in the CAS? Its 102, if I change the timings what should I change that too?
  3. Ok, if I wanted to mess with the CAS are there any settings that might be good, and also if change to 6000 do I still enable DOCP1/EXPO1? And do I still change the UCLK from auto?
  4. Oh If I change it to 6200 or 6000, the CAS will be what the kit came with for the 6400 unless I manually change it?
  5. Why would they release ram, say it works with mb, say set to DOCP1/EXPO1 and then not say to change the UCLK? The mb I have stock bios says it supports up to 6400mhz ram. I updated the bios to the December 23 bios. So that means people are buying ram and many not know to change the UCLK are not receiving the advertised speed?
  6. So after setting the UCLK, watch out for crashes and blue screens? Run the stability tests?
  7. Thanks everyone. I downloaded and used HWinfo, it shows the MCLK at 32.00mhz, and UCLK at 16.00. So that means change the UCLK in bios? If I dont change the UCLK, what situations would the latency affect performance? Gaming? 3D animation and rendering? What stress software would you suggest? The ones mentioned earlier are all from 2010 and 2013. No updates.
  8. So Auto for the UCLK means the ram is at 3200? I dont understand, the bios and even 3DMark shows my ram at 6400 speed. So how is at 3200? What is happening if I dont change the UCLK from Auto? If I am not lowering the speed, why do I need to change the TRFC? I have the bios update from December 2023.
  9. If it is stable now and the timings are good and the voltages, I dont know if I want to mess with the UCLK. What are some signs to look for that would say to change the UCLK to 1:1? You would run a stress test for 24 hours?
  10. I went into bios and without changing anything here is what bios shows DOCP1/EXPO1 Memory Frequency DDR5 6400 FCLK Frequency Auto CPU Core Voltage 1.440V-1.432V Auto CPU SOC Voltage 1.320V Auto DRAM VDD Voltage 1.35000 DRAM VDDQ Voltage 1.3500 Memory Timings CL32 TRCD39 TRP39 TRAS102 UCLK is set to Auto TRFC is set to Auto Notes in bios says DOCP1/EXPO1 Load the DIMMS default DOCP/EXPO memory timings and other memory parameters optimized by ASUS DOCP/EXPO Tweaked Load DOCP/EXPO profile with tweaks for improved performance if config matches DCOP2/EXPO2 Load the DIMMS complete default DOCP/EXPO profile So seems to be fine. Do I need to change anything? I can change ram speed but do I need to? Whats the big differences between the DOCP/EXPO settings? Is it worth trying the tweaked option?
  11. So I look for something called vsoc and set it to 1:1 and 1.3v. Or if downclock set to trfc 500. What is vsoc and what is trfc?
  12. After I installed the ram and the system booted up fine, I went into bios. Bios had it set automatically at 6000mhz. I have to set it at DOCP1/EXPO1.
  13. How do I know what good performance numbers are? I will change to 6000 and try but will not mess with the timings, dont know how do it and dont want to kill any parts on the computer.
  14. Hello, I just replaced the DDR5 6000mhz 2x32gig for my Ryzen 7950X with DDR5 6400mhz 2x48gigs. The memory speed in bios was set on Auto on the Asus ROG B650E-E board I have(I have one of the newer bios updates). It set the new memory at 6000mhz and the system came on fine. I went back and changed it to DOCP1/EXPO 1 6400mhz and its running fine. The timings for the new ram is CL32-39-39-102. I ran performance test by Passmark and the score is 3816 with memory latency 51. I ran Aida 64 stability test for 11 mins, system did not crash. The temperature of the dims was dim2 55 degrees dim 4 50 degrees On the Cache & Memory Benchmark, it showed the latency at 87.2 Why would one software show latency 51 and the other 87? Will keeping the ram on 6400mhz affect performance in a bad way? The new bios updates for Ryzen boards allow 48 gig ram in each channel. Should I keep it on 6400mhz?
  15. Well prices for 4tb m.2 drives are about 300 dollars apiece. The X670E Crosshair is only about 600 dollars. I think the 5.0x4 PCIE x16 slots on the Crosshair are spaced further apart than on the B650E-E. So I can buy a add on card that holds a m.2 drive and is a 10Gb lan? So can I use the PCIE 4.0 x16 slot for the m.2 add on card on the B650E-E? Can I connect 10Gb lan to the USB 3 Gen 3 2x2 Type C port on the computer?
  16. Thanks Because I have already three m.2 filled and not going to go back and replace all with 4tb drives. I use one drive for OS and main programs, one for games, one for 3D programs project drive, and the forth on the board will be project drive for video editing/photoshop etc. 5th will be for storage or any future uses I may have. My 2nd 5.0x4 PCIEx16 slot is covered by my 3090ti. The B650E-E only has 4 m.2 slots. The B650E-E only has USB 3 Gen 3 2x2 Type so no 40Gbs only 20Gbs but has the Thunderbolt header on the board. The X670E Crosshair only has 4 m.2 slots but comes with a 5.0 x4 m.2 add in card for a fifth drive.

  18. Thanks for the reply. I am using Macs also, Macs are used for some programs. So I will be transferring files sometimes large between the Mac and PC. That is why I am interested in USB 4/Thunderbolt or 10Gb lan if I do a NAS or use router to transfer files between computers. How would I connect a Thunderbolt card and a 5th m.2 drive to the board I have now?
  19. Thanks for the reply. I want 5 total m.2 spaces. Not necessary all 5.0x4 m.2 spaces. How would I add an extra m.2 and a thunderbolt card and 10gig lan to the motherboard I have now?
  20. Hello, I have the Asus ROG B650E-E with a 7950X. Board works but thinking about changing to the Asus ROG X670E Hero Crosshair. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare?CompareItemList=13-119-582%2C13-119-593 I want to run 5 m.2's. THe B650E-E has 2 5.0 x4 m.2 spaces and 2 4.0 x 4 m.2 space. The 2nd 5.0 x4 m.2 space changes the main PCIe 5.0 x16 slot to x8 if used. The X670E Hero can have 5 m.2d drives, 2 5.0x4 m.2 spaces, 2 4.0 x4 m.2 spaces and a 5.0x4 m.2 add on card. If use the m.2 add on card in the Crosshair PCIEx16 slot, changes main PCIE 5.0 x16 slot to x8. The B650E-E has 2 PCIE 5.0 x16 slots ( x16 0r x8/x4) and one PCIE 4.0x16 slot . The X6570E Hero has 2 PCIE 5.0x16 (x16 or x8/x8) and one PCIE x16 slot. What is the big difference between the PCIE 4.0x16 and PCIE x16? Which is more useful? The X670E Hero has 2 USB 4 type C rear ports. The B650E-E has only a Thunderbolt header(my case doesnt have any Thunderbolt ports) and 1 USB C Gen 3 Type C 2x2 rear ports. (20gps) The Crosshair has a better audio board. The B650E-E has 1x24 pin Main power connector and 2x8pin + 12V power connector. The X670E Crosshair has 1x24 pin Main power connector, 2x8 pin +12V power connector and a 1X6 pin PCIE Power Connector. What is a 1x6 pin PCIE Power Connector? Is it worth using? The VRM on the B650E-E are 16+2 and 70A powerstages and the VRM on the X670E Cross hair are 18+2 and 110A powerstages. I am using the computer for heavy 3D animation, rendering, gaming and video editing. The computer will be on sometimes up to 24 hours depending on the work I am doing, rendering. Which board is better to have? Should I keep the ROG B650E-E board that I have? Good idea to upgrade to the X670E Crosshair? I do have multiple type C devices, including externally ssds. Big thing I wish one of the boards had is 10gig lan. I will use 2 gpu's if I can find 2nd one cheap. I have a 3090Ti
