So trying to get my apartment i share a ibit more tech savvey but my roomates kinda tech primitive so have to keep things user friendly. Notably he doesnt have a cell phone. But my lings and various things require app control. Now i know that bluttoop, android, hell even cell can be built and you could make a custom phone but as i dont want to front a monthly bill for a controller does any one know if the various thing like alexia and various app require a cell connection or just internet access. Like those of you with goggle home or whatever if you dont have celular can you still use your smart home?

yesh thats what i use, i though ou were talking about a non 5.25 pwm and all the ones i see like that goe in the case

every pwm control ivew seen is attached inside the case so id have to remove th side panel to make any changes

im not a fan of additional bloat where on my system so i prever psycical control and i dont want to havew to open my case to adjust the fans. Thats why i always go with a controler. I dont add boat to the os and dont have to open the case to make changes

Planning a new rig since well my curent rysen 5 2600, 16GB ram, rx580 is kind lon on the tooth. Especiall for newer games...and game dev. Now havew a lot of data and while some of that is now sitting on a External nas i never seem to have nough data on rig as is so n my current rig i install a 5.25 sata icy dock 6x dock. I also like ot hae a usb/mukti card reader and a pyscaa l fan controler so i need at least 3 5.25 drives. looking mid town but full tower is fine too. anyone have any personal favorites? or should o go beyond tower intop something new liek a rack? Can you put consumer hardware in a rack? Can you get a short rack? itsi scost effective for the consumer?

Gonna have to disagree that discord is only popular cuase MSN Messager and Skype were worse. Neither werre built with live communities in mind. You had to know before hand who you were connecting to and adding the live community feature plus everything else discord has would have been a radical overhaul. Discord works because it take th old BBoard concept and takes it live letting you connect with people of similar interest by searching for or being invited to a persistent group instead of a one off session and preserving old longs so you cna catch up. It's the LMG forums but with an option for live feed back without reload and a idea home for the old Role Play boards. None of which MSN Messenger or skype could do without a massive overhaul.

tail scale looks like it has oter potential. how robust is the routing like could you use your host pc to serve as a anti virus node scanning anything you download ona remote device since it has to go though the host basically leting your host act as a security hub? Imagine setting up a remote hub for your less tech savy family so they dont download totallynotavirus.exe
