  1. Do you have Malwarebytes? If not, download the trail version of it and run it through your pc. https://www.malwarebytes.com/ After that I would also reset chrome just to be safe. https://www.howtogeek.com/171924/how-to-reset-your-web-browser-to-its-default-settings/
  2. Have staples price match it. I live in NC and there is no MicroCenter in the state. I did live chat and on my first try it went through. With Staple's 110% price match the CPU ended up being $367.29 shipped. If it doesn't work after about three times, try calling them. You should get it approved.
  3. Yeah, I believe it does. I emailed MSI yesterday, still no response.
  4. I've been leaning towards the mobo being the issue, hopefully MSI can still replace it. it's just past being a year old.
  5. It's booting before the system detects the CPU. Which would imply that either the board has bent pins or my CPU died.
  6. So as the title says, I have reason to believe that something must have died within my PC. I have a X99 Gaming 7 mobo from MSI and when I went to boot it no screen comes up and it gives error code 04. I have pulled the motherboard from the case, plugged in the bare necessities and the same error is still posting. I've had trouble with this board in the past and I am leaning towards it being the issue. I assume that it is all together possible that my 5930k bit the dust, but that would be much more costly to fix. Is there a sure fire way to tell what is wrong? I wish I had someone nearby that could let me use their board or cpu, but all of my friends use something other than x99. I guess I should also mention that my CPU was acquired through the Intel Retail Edge Program, I don't know if this matters much, but I figured I would add that.
  7. I skipped the comments so someone might have touched on this already and I am pretty sure it was talked about on WAN, but the mac's battery life is so bad that Apple just removed the time remaining indicator on the laptops so all the user sees is the percentage remaining. HP did the same thing with their spectre 360s. Companies solution to bad battery life? Remove the indicator! LOL. Anyway, that dude (original quoted comment) is out of his mind with all of this "best in class" talk, I have never liked macs and probably never will, however that won't make me tell someone it has bad specs if they're genuinely good, but in this case Apple fell sort with their pro line.
  8. So I decided to put an old AMD APU to use in the living room and bought some pieces to get it going. I got a $70 GC from Amazon because I decided to get their nifty credit card and I also get a $20 visa MIR from newegg, so I saved $90 in all.
  9. In one of my computer classes the teacher has provided a template for the class to use to make a working analog clock in python using turtles. I honestly don't know where to start. I know how to get the clock drawn out, but I can't figure out how to make the minute, hour, and second hand while having them update in real time. Any help would be appreciated. clock_shell.py

  11. So my grandparents run a resale store and all of their online stuff is handled through one laptop. Randomly it stopped booting properly and says "Windows failed to boot, do a start up recovery, or boot normally." Both options take stupid amounts of time and end with the computer blue screening. So I figured I could yank it out and recover it all through my desktop. I plugged it in, windows installed some drivers and the PC now shows a new local and recovery disc, both from the laptop hdd. However, accessing them isn't working. When I click on the local disk it slowly loads, and then says the drive needs to be formatted, I say no, then it displays this error (attached below). Is there anyway around this or is their data lost??
  12. Fairly confident that this is similar to the 1060 Jayztwocents was tearing apart last night on his techtalk, its pretty much a 1050.
  13. Westinghouse isn't a good brand. I've torn one apart twice because it keeps sort circuiting one of the led strips.
  14. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/kFCBD8 So basically this, and maybe we switch from a 970 to a 1070 if the guy can afford it.
  15. I'll have to see if he can swing an extra $100.
  16. So how about this? http://pcpartpicker.com/list/2HqYcc
  17. Pretty sure he's gonna use his tv for now and I have the OS covered for him.
  18. Didn't realize that motherboard was unable to OC.... ;-;
  19. Ahhh yes, my bad. He wants to keep it around $800 USD.
  20. Okay, so here's the quick run down...my neighbor wants a PC that can max GTA V, keep over 60fps, run mods on it, and keep it reasonable. I have come up with two builds and was hoping you all could look it over or make a build of your own to show me. Try to keep it around $800 USD. i5-4460 http://pcpartpicker.com/list/292qqk i5-4690k http://pcpartpicker.com/list/H2WMnn
  21. I just turned my computer on and my PC isn't connecting to my main monitor. I've played with display fusion, nvidia settings, and the built in display settings and nothing is working. It was working just fine last night so I don't know what is wrong. I am running a GTX980 G1, and am on windows 10. Fixed the original issue, now my main monitor isn't getting the main taskbar. Instead the main bar is on my 3rd monitor, and I can only get a bar on my main screen through display fusion. I made sure that in all programs my main monitor is set to main so I don't know what is going on/.
  22. We have like 20 of those at my Walmart.
