  1. Hi guys, Found a refurbished Beyerdynamic DT 990 Premium 250 Ohm Headphone on sale today and it was basically almost on 50% off compared to the price it usually goes for in my country so I instantly jumped on it . Now I'd like some advice about refurbished headphones , it says I get a proper bill with 3 months manufacturer's warranty . Is that how it usually is and is that good enough ? And assuming I do decide to keep it , I'm currently using a Fiio Q1 as my DAC/AMP . I've used the ATH-M50s and HD598's before this so I've never had a problem with them . Will they be good enough for the 250 Ohm 990s ? I usually listen to music at what other people might consider low volume so I don't think that should be a problem . Just as long as it doesn't affect the sound quality . So would like to know If I need to get a new AMP and if so any suggestions? Any thought about the headphones themselves are welcome , I've read a few reviews about - overly bright highs and recessed mids . Is there a good EQ setting to make them awesome ?
  2. Hey guys , finally decided on the 2 headphones that I would like to purchase . They are both selling for the same price in my country so no differences there . I use it for Audio/gaming/anime/movies along with a Fiio Q1 with my entire collection being FLAC for the most part (Almost 90% of my songs are Japanese). Would like the female vocals to be presented perfectly with good instrument seperation and detail .I play MMO's like Final Fantasy 14 so positional audio is something I don't care about , just a good sound stage hence the choice of open back headphones . Which would you guys recommend offers the best sound quality as well as value for the price .
  3. I'm aware of what you mentioned . I'm not from the USA or EU/NA . The choices here are limited and the prices have huge differences .
  4. I looked around but the cheapest pair I could find here costs 170$ Appreciate the suggestion though , thanks !
  5. My bad , I worded that poorly . I have a few IEMs as well and I'm basing it on actual neutrality rather than M50s being neutral . I bought the M50s looking for something new and thought that I might enjoy it and I did but not as much as I had hoped so now going back to what I enjoy the most I checked out the HD558s but they seem pricier than the HD 598 CS (135$) and the 598 SE (140$) , forgot to mention them on my post . I've used quite a few gaming headsets long back and 1 of them being the siberia v2 from steelseries , I know for a fact that I would love the AKG's form factor . Thanks for all the help , I'll have to make a decision based on the current models or wait for the DT770 to get back in stock .
  6. Hey guys , I'm looking for a replacement for my M50x as stated . I'm on an extremely tight budget right now so either looking to buy something in the same range or I could save up and go for a better upgrade later on . Would love to hear some suggestions . Right now I'm looking at the Sennheiser hd 380 pro (116$ currently) as a replacement but I know its a very old model so not sure how it compares with the newer competition . I'm not from NA/EU so I'm restricted on the options available here so would appreciate a wide range of suggestions if possible Considering the AKG - K240 MKII (About 130$ here) also the Beyer DT 770 (About135 but out of stock , not sure if I can get it for the same price again) . But if the HD 380s produce similar quality I would rather go for that . Personal preference would be a fairly neutral sounding headphone with good instrument separation . I use it for Audio/gaming/movies along with a Fiio Q1 with my entire collection being FLAC for the most part . As far as upgrades go , I have 0 clue so would like the help of veterans for that but the budget would still be around 200$ but if I can find something on sale then perhaps could extend that a bit more .
  7. thanks mate , so its either the ATH-IM70 or Thinksound MS01 perhaps , do u have any other suggestion based on my requirement ?
  8. How different is the sound quality and detail between the momentum and se215? I was leaning towards the shures however I've read multiple reviews that say comfort and isolation aside the sound itself isint comparable to the other IEMs in the same price range and if the CX 3.0 is just as good as the momentum , which would u say has the best detailed and balanced sound under 100 bucks ? the RHA MA750 perhaps?
  9. Hey guys , I'm currently using the SoundMagic E80s and looking to change to a better IEM (will be giving this off to my brother). Budget - Around 100$ Source - Will be playing from the ZTE Axon 7 , so called "Hifi Audio" - yet to test it , pre-ordered or a Fiio K1 on my pc Requirements for Isolation - I use my earphones a lot while driving on my motorcycle so would prefer good isolation to keep out the wind noise , I do use a helmet just to prevent that as well . Nothing too extreme since I do want to have a general awareness of my surroundings , I will be using it at the gym as well as while watching movies . Pokemon GO seems to be the new trend so perhaps quite a bit of that in public as well . Preferred Type of Headphone - IEMs Preferred tonal balance - I listen to a variety of genres and would prefer a balanced overall sound and would appreciate really good instrument seperation and mids but a little lit of bass to go with it . Past headphones - Currently using the Hyper X cloud headset and the soundmagic E80s , as far as the E80 goes , I love the clarity and the sound overall but I d prefer more bass . Preferred Music - Almost every genre so its hard to pinpoint a certain 1 . What would you like to improve on from your set-up - Detail with a touch of bass The list of IEMs that I've shortlisted , although its quite long ... Hifiman re-400 Sennheiser momentum Shure- se215 RHA - MA600I Audio Technica - ATH-IM70 Klipsch R6m Beyerdynamic iDX 160 iE Vsonic VSD3S So based on the info , which would you guys suggest is the best IEMs for me ?
