Hi everyone ! Just discovered this amazing forum
Well My Pc is 8 year old (nearly 9 now) and at that time there were plenty of information about gaming in 1080p, now that the pc struggle to do most of recents games i want to upgrade, but not just to better 1080p, i would like to go to 4k (cause i think it will become more and more popular in the next 10 year)
So ... I've searched for some infos and i'm not sure about some things so i'm coming here to have your insight about it ...
So i'll start with the new monitor i'll go with an Asus ROG Swift PG27AQ (4K G-Sync + ROG functions that are pretty nice for me ...) the only thing about it is the displayport 1,2 who limit it to 60hz if i've understand correctly
Next i'll go with a gtx 1080 (maybe a 2nd in SLI in some years (probably like 5 at least i hope) then one won't be enough)
For the CPU i have a biggest hard time to decide, an i7 6700k (4Ghz 4/8 core (HT) OR a biggest CPU (6 or 8 core ?) ? What would be better for a 10 year investisment ? I think the i7 6700k would be nice but won't it limit at some point ?
The CPU will determine the motherboard but i'll listen to your though about the chipset who you think woild be best ...
For Ram i'll go with 16 or 32 GB (will decide after motherboard/CPU for the best speed / latency i can find.
For PSU i'll go with a new one modular, the other one may bave enough power (need to see if it is ...) but the cables were a mess to deal with ... so i'll see what i can do with this later
Well ... I want to play lastest game in 4k and maybe do stream/recording in 1080p (and i have the tendency to have LOTS of internet pages launched at the same time (like youtube + future thing to do and never have time to really do it ...) And recording mean editing and rendering (i may do it while i don't play actually but while i'm watching video or something ) And i'll have my current monitor (1080p) at 2nd monitor for control/TS (and never used 2 screen before so don't know how it work ...)
So I think my original idea with i7 6700k and 16 (maybe 32 GB ?) of ram should be enough but i prefer to have other people thoughs about it ... So ... What do you think ?
Btw sorry for my engrish it's not my native language so i may have made some error
ps my last pc build was 800€ without HDD and optic drive (they are cheap anyway), for this one i have some money saved so i'll go full out (but not too much if possible !)
