  1. I'm not 100% sure I understand the question but I'll try to answer what I can. Assuming you have 230V outlets, you'll draw 5A according to what you stated. From that, I think you'll be fine with a 6A cable
  2. You can use an over/under scan setting like other post suggested. Generally, this is an issues when using a tv for a monitor.
  3. So I have two z170 motherboards, two computers, a 6600k and a g4560. I had recently bought the g4560 in order to put in the second z170. Knowing that it was kaby lake, I performed what I thought was a bios update on the target z170 motherboard. The computer was running fine when I used the 6600k in the updated motherboard. This is where the problem comes in: when I installed the g4560, I lost video output. However, it should be mentioned that the fans still turn on and it appears to be working. I originally thought I may have updated to a newer, but still outdated, bios. So I slapped the working 6600k back in and nothing. The fans still turn on but I don't have any video. The monitor appears fine, I tested the cables, I tried with a gpu and without, but I just can't get a videos output. Is it possible that I bricked the motherboard or did some irreversible damage by putting the g4560 in the computer? I'm just hoping that this is fixable.
  4. Thanks. Too bad Intel doesn't decide to unlock all it's core clock multipliers
  5. I can overclock my g3258 on an H81 motherboard. I knew about this before I bought them and I actually rely on it to get decent performance. But why? I'm under the impression that all intel processors need a high end chipset to overclock. In the 1150 socket, I thought I would need a z87 motherboard to overclock. Can anyone help explain why the g3258 has this odd ability to overclock on any board?
  6. This is just a quick question on the state of graphics card prices: is price still increasing? I'm wondering because I want to sell my 1080 for about $1000 and need to know if that is something that is/will be feasible. I'm willing to wait for prices to go higher as long as the market is heading that way, however if it has already peaked, then I'd like to know so I can drop my price and sell it while it's still high.
  7. Although the 4930k is a great CPU and the Mobo and aio sound good too $500 is just too much. If you are located near a microcenter you can get a r5 1600 with a B350 motherboard for around $260 + you can pick up a liquid cooler for another $100 if you don't like the stock spire cooler. You'll be losing a bit of gaming performance right now but as optimization increases so will the 1600's gaming performance. Plus 6 cores is better for most non-gaming applications.
  8. So I have a very beefy computer (1080, 6600k) with a tb of sshd storage and 120 gb of ssd storage. One day my parent's drive started to fail so I plugged it into my computer and used the extra hardware to get all the pictures and important files off before it was too late. The problem is that I simply replaced my ssd with the problem drive while I unloaded the files off of it. With everything connected again, I boot up windows and (my windows in on the hdd, don't judge me) I kept getting the BSoD for random issues. Then I went to my drive management and saw my ssd capacity was reduced to a mere 20 mb. Now I have tried different cables and sata ports to fix the issue but the ssd is no longer 120gb. Honestly, I don't know what else to do, so any suggestions?
  9. Lets get straight to the point: I have a very powerful pc in my office that would not look good in my family room, where I have my tv. In the family room I have a less powerful computer that is currently my home theater/ netflix driver. The end goal is for the less power computer to completely stream the other computer without latency or lag so I can play those great console ports with friends or other games that generally look better on a large screen. I've tried steam streaming I noticed very poor quality and terrible latency even though both of the computers are using wired connections. That's the part that bugs me, if I was using a wireless connection between the computers I'd expect some issues, but the computers are physically wired together so I really don't understand why I can't get a good stream. Anyways, I can use all the help that I can get so feel free to leave as many suggestions and solutions as you can in the comments.
  10. I'm looking to get a new monitor and am hoping to spend about $300. Also have a 1080 so 1440p/144hz (maybe 4k) won't be an issue. Any ideas? Thanks.
  11. Seriously, hold off on anything cpu based until ryzen comes out. Even if you don't want to buy ryzen it will still shake up cpu pricing. And yes, there will be a bottleneck.
  12. I have a budget system with a g3258 in a mini itx build that will run through my tv and do some light gaming. I still need a gpu though. Micro center currently has a 1050 ti for $115 and a rx 470 for $150. I know that the rx 470 is better but is it really worth the extra $35 since I will be pairing it with a g3258?
  13. This should be simple. I've been have some issues with my computer and I don't know exactly what from. Right now I just want to know if my power supply is to low or "bad" or something. https://m.newegg.com/product/index?itemNumber=N82E16817438066 My specs- I5 6600k 2x rx 480 (Everything else is relatively standard)
  14. I recently bought a GTX 960 from eBay for a really good price, ($95) however I think I found out why it was so cheap. The 960 is clocked at 783 so performance on it is less than desirable. In fact the card is at 100% when gaming which seems odd because it is only using a fraction if its clockspeed. I can manually "overclock" the card with MSI afterburner but it won't let me edit the voltage either. I was just thinking that maybe there could be a driver or software issue I could test? (And yes, I have the latest drivers from nividia.)
