  1. Thanks for the help. I called EVGA last night and gave me a few more things to try. They said it's most likely a problem with the motherboard.
  2. I know that they're both in x16 slots. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131877 They're running in the 2 tan slots. The 1st and 3rd PCI lanes which are x16.
  3. Alright I will do that, I just called EVGA and asked for a few things I could do to continue trouble shooting and this was one of them. I will update you when I finish with it.
  4. I've been searching everything and doing everything. One of the things I have not is reinstalling Win7. But after this post (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1716429/gtx-670-sli-problems-code-bottem-card.html) should I try Win8.1? I really don't want to screw with my OS but to fix the problem I will do it.
  5. I have the same problem, same motherboard, but my cards are GTX 670s. I've tried everything, the last thing I can find to do is upgrade to Win8 because this is a Win7 problem (not verified, read this on Tom's Hardware). Sorry to bump the thread
  6. The driver instillation failed. Plus the screen res is messed up, so do I go to NVidia's website to install drivers? Edit: It seems another option I have here is to use Driver Sweeper in Safe Mode and then re-install drivers?
  7. When I uninstall do I also check the box to delete software for the device?
  8. I received my second EVGA GTX 670 today and put it in my PC with the SLI bridge. Installed the drivers and then went to NVidia control panel and the SLI option isn't there. I've gone through most of the trouble shooting I could find on Geforce and Tom's Hardware. Let me run you through everything I've tried. - Install newest/older drivers - Flip the cards - Flip the SLI bridge - Running a single display - Ran the cards by themselves and they both work - They are in the correct PCI slots - Motherboard does support SLI - Power cables are plugged in Here are some pictures to show what I'm talking about: http://imgur.com/a/TpabX Here are my system specs: AMD FX 8350 ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Corsair Vengeance 16Gbs Corsair HX 850 W Windows 7 Home 64 Bit (Yes it's legit) EDIT #1: I've installed GPU-Z and both graphics cards are there. http://imgur.com/a/jqpZW EDIT #2: I've tried the Display Driver Uninstaller and re-install from the NVidia website. No luck still EDIT #3: Alright so I called EVGA tech support and they said that the problem is most likely a hardware issue. Specifically with the motherboard. I updated my BIOs and checked the Devices Panel and it still has 'error code 43'. Nvidia Panel also does NOT show SLI options. I'm taking my cards to a friend's house to test them in his PC to see if I get them to work.
  9. So I've been searching around and this is what I want to have for the server PC: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vyvkzy If I save up some more money and while waiting for the black Friday sales, while this thing be good enough for the money?
  10. Yeah I would need a new motherboard for more RAM, I have every slot being used by each 1gb sticks. Would it be worth it getting an athlon or something of the sort? Since I would be switching mobos.
  11. Hello! I'm looking for some advice with my build I'm putting together to run a Minecraft server. I around $100 bucks to spend to upgrade this PC I've put together to run my server. Currently I have these parts put together: Intel Core 2 Quad - 2.5 GHz No Name Mobo 4Gbs of DDR2 Ram 9800 GT Graphics, this is just to power a display and I have a few scrap HDDs, 5400 RPMs I believe. Possible Upgrade: Rosewill Case w/ 2 fans and 450w PSU - $46.00 - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G6TAAWC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Seagate 500Gb HDD - $43.00 - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005CT56R6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVKYAVCKQS7C TP-LINK Wireless Adapter, 2.4Ghz 300Mbps - $20.00 - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0079XWMEI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER I'm not sure what to get to run the server successfully. Like would the Seagate 500gb HDD help vs the scrap ones I have now? Because they've been through alot of different builds and I'm not sure if the RPMs would affect anything. Note about the case is my current PSU is failing and the case I have has terrible air flow. So the Rosewill Case I have picked out seems like a good 2 in 1 deal. Also planning to take any donations from the server and put it into the server, that's IF we get any. Thanks, Liberty
  12. Alright thanks, I'll do that and I'll give an update on what I found out.
  13. Ah, I didn't think about that. To check that would I just go to the bio's of the laptop and check the ram?
  14. Hello, first off I've had this laptop for a bit now but the hard drive just recently went out on me but, I was planning to add more Ram anyways but since its an APU based system I was wondering if I put RAM with increased speeds; would it help? Laptop: http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-dv6-7010us-15-6-Inch-Laptop/dp/B0089KDD5C For the Hard Drive I was going to go with: Western Digital Bare Drive 500GB http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Drives-Notebook-WD5000LPVX/dp/B00C9TECFO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382732678&sr=8-1&keywords=Laptop+Hard+Drive (For those wondering) I was looking at some RAM at 2133 and I found some: Corsair and Kingston First Set: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104357 Second Set: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233597 I use the laptop just for if I need to type something up for school and on the go gaming. I play a bit of Minecraft, Dota 2, Battlefield 3, so I play a variety of games and if I could get better FPS that'd be great, but I don't use it for my main gaming machine. I have Desktop for at home and the laptop for if I head over to a friend's house or something. Feel free to ask any questions and help is appreciated.
