  1. Hello guys, I have to build several rack mounted systems which will be moved around. They don't need huge amounts of drive slots (the systems will only have SSDs in them) and will only have one GPU inside. But this GPU is the problem. I am kinda scared that when these systems will be moved (most of them will be mounted in television broadcasting vans) that the GPUs will break from their slots. Are there any 4U (or preferably even smaller but 4U would be fine) cases that have inbuilt GPU stability support (in bracket form or some other way)? The GPUs in question are also quite big/heavy (2080S and in the future 3080 and maybe 3090s) so even in a normal desktop case they could need some support stopping them from "sacking". If there aren't any such rack cases out there does anyone have an idea for the GPU support short of manufacturing custom mounting hardware? We are a very small, independent camera development company so all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and I hope you all have an awesome day.
  2. Not me personally but a close friend and I have seen it quite a few times
  3. So I am thinking about getting the Acer Aspire VX 15 https://www.amazon.de/Acer-VX5-591G-78HD-i7-7700HQ-1-000GB-GeForce/dp/B01MU6XADL/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1488057335&sr=1-3-fkmr1&keywords=Acer+Aspire+VX+15+%2Bii7 or the Lenovo Legion y520 https://www.amazon.de/Lenovo-Anti-Glare-Gaming-Notebook-i5-7300HQ-Quad-Core/dp/B01N6PUG26/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1488056609&sr=1-1&keywords=lenovo+legion+y520 Is the i7 upgrade worth 200€ ?I don't really care about double the SSD capacity (I can change it later anyway.). I will do a bit of work on this laptop and of cause I will game on it but I won't do anything like heavy 4k video editing. Some multitasking is possible tho. Both laptops have IPS Panels, the most important ports (for me personally) but the Legion looks better imo. Thank you for your advice in advance
  4. It has a really good TN panel build in afaik. (Way above the average TN Panel)
  5. Why is the Asus FX520VM-FY256T so cheap? It has a 3 GB 1060 i7-7700HQ 128 GB SSD+ 1TB HDD 8GB RAM It goes for 1300€ (tax is included in the price) in Germany but the american equivalent goes for $1220 + tax (so the american one is waaaay more expensive) american one: https://www.amazon.com/FX502VM-AS73-15-6-inch-Gaming-7th-Gen-Windows/dp/B01N9QKYZ9/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1488038976&sr=8-2&keywords=FX502VM german one: https://www.amazon.de/ASUS-Notebook-FX502VM-FY256T-i7-7700HQ-Prozessor/dp/B01MRBO6NT https://www.caseking.de/asus-fx502vm-fy256t-39-62-cm-15-6-zoll-gaming-notebook-nbas-071.html In germany it's the by far cheapest 1060 laptop. Are there any knows issues with this device? I was looking to get the Acer Aspire VX15 (with i7-7700HQ and 1050Ti 4GB +512GB SSD and 1TB HDD) but now I am not sure anymore which one I should get. I am only deciding between these too because I don't know of any other <1300€ laptop with atleast a 1050ti + an i7 (6th or 7th gen) which has atleast 2 ways to connect another display( HDMI+displayport or HDMI+Usb C) (Maybe somebody has any more suggestion?) Thanks to all your answers in advance already
  6. already saw that but I am wondering: Why is it so cheap? Does it have cooling problems?
  7. The HP Omen sadly only has one Hdmi Port and no other way to connect another screen. About the MSI one: There is no 1050ti version afaik. In addition to that its 1400€ PLUS the price of a SSD I would have to add to it.
  8. sadly the MSI GE62 7RE goes for 1500€+ in Germany. The HP Omen sadly doesn't have a possibility to connect 2 screens. (It only has one Hdmi Port)
  9. I am looking for a 13" - 17.2" Laptop ( preferably 15.6" ). I will use it for gaming and also for some university work on it [thats why I need a Laptop]. - atleast a i7 6700HQ as processor. - 1050 ti or something like that (There is no laptop with a 9th series GPU that is about the same cost and performance right? And all the 1060 laptops seem to be waaaaay more expensive. I play a lot of different games. Ranging from pretty undemanding Free-To-Play titles up to some AAA titles. I do not need ultra settings in every game but would like to be able to play most games at 1080p at high settings at reasonable framerates.) - atleast 8GB RAM, 16 GB would be better - SSD+ HDD ( atleast 1TB storage like a 128 GB SSD+ 1TB HDD ) - a way to connect 2 monitors (Hdmi+displayport or Hdmi+ USB C for example) I looked at the Dell Inspiron 7567 but it doesnt have a way to connect 2 displays (only 1 through Hdmi) and it has a really bad display afaik. http://www.dell.com/de/p/inspiron-15-7567-laptop/pd?oc=cn56702&model_id=inspiron-15-7567-laptop I also looked at the Lenovo Legion Y520 but it's only available with either an i5 7th gen processor + 1050ti or a i7 7th gen processor + a normal 1050. (I don't know how much the difference between the i7 and i5 is.) http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/legion-y-series/y520/?IPromoID=LEN216395 The one that I am currently looking at is the Acer Aspire VX 15. It has the right processor, graphics card and a USB C port but I am not sure about the design and the placement of the ports. https://www.amazon.de/Acer-VX5-591G-71F7-Full-HD-i7-7700HQ-1-000GB/dp/B01MU6XBL5/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1487761451&sr=1-1&keywords=acer+aspire Sadly I am living in Germany and as far as I know I can't get any of the Clevo rebranded laptops here (without paying like 300€ for shipping). Can anybody recommend or suggest any other laptop in this pricerange ( 1000€-1350€ [a bit less performance for cheaper would be ok too]) or do I have to go with the Acer? I am looking forward to your suggestions and thank you in advance for your help.
  10. But I heard the Acer laptops have terrible heat management
  11. I am looking for a Laptop around 1300€ for some time now. I looked at the HP Omen (decided against it because I really want to be able to connect 2 displays ), at the Lenovo Legion y520 (Amazon tells me it will be out at 29th of march , but I like the USB type C port), and at the Dell Inspiron 15 with the i7 and 1050Ti (decided against it because I really want to be able to connect 2 displays ). Today I found the ASUS FX502VM-FY256T it has an i7-7700HQ 8GB of ram Full HD display a 3 GB GTX 1060 a M.2 128GB SSD and a 1 TB harddrive but the most impressive thing are the ports: 1x mini DisplayPort 1x HDMI 1x ThunderBolt and 3x USB 3.0 Does it have any major downsides because it looks like the cheapest 1060 Laptop and it has a really good variety of ports ( even thunderbolt at this pricepoint o.O) ?
  12. I already looked at this one and it seems fine but there is one Problem for me: it only has one HDMI port. If possible I would prefer something with either an additional display port or an USB C port. I would really like to be able to attach 2 additional displays.
  13. So I am looking for a laptop or notebook with a GTX 1060. I am living in germany so 1300$ are like 1300€ in most cases. Does anybody have any suggestions?
  14. So I am just curious about this: Why does everybody talk about the new Dell Inspiron 15 7567 and maybe a bit about the Acer VX 15? I know that Acer often has problems with cooling on their laptops. I understand why nobody talks about the Acer VX 15. But it seems like everybody is completely ignoring the Lenovo Legion Y520. It was shown on CES 2017 too but every single Youtube channel / tech website seem to only care about the new Dell Inspiron. I think the Legion Y520 got same specs as the Dell but better Ports ( the additional USB C port) . Is there any major downside with the Lenovo laptop? Or what's the reason nobody talks about it? You can barely find anything about the y520 online but every single tech youtuber made a video about the inspiron 15. If at all they say something about the Legion Lineup they always only talk about the Y720.
