  1. could i some how get my hotshoe to work in place of the onboard flash?
  2. no my wife mostly shoots outdoors but we have had some family birthdays indoors and we noticed the flash not working. ive messed with the settings and reset to factory settings but still doesn't work. the camera is not even 2yrs old. my wife has taken approx 2-3k photos. 95% outdoors.
  3. as title says. flash will not work. flash pops up focuses properly and takes pics/video but flash does not work. any one know how to fix this? i cant find anything online but a fix for D70 which doesnt work on mine i tried, and "take to nikon repairer" any help appreciated.
  4. seems my mobo switched to OC genie, preventing IETU from changing any settings in bios. OC genie is 4.4ghz, maybe i should just switch to that? seems decent and no work necessary i guess?
  5. ok so i set every settings one at a time before i changing the multipliers to 45. so far so good.had to restart for some settings but they did not all work. some did however. seems stable so far. 10m and max temps 67c. seems odd was maxing at 72c before. anywhoo my system is 4.5ghz at 1.280v, is this good? i tried 1.275 and was stable for 4hr stress test however my pc crashed playing mafia 3 after about 6hrs and then immediately after running it again. bumped to 1.280 and was good. ive read others are getting 4.5ghz at 1.225-1.25v and cooler temps. mine seem a bit high. im new to OCing, never cared for it before, also using intel extreme tuning utility. easiest way ive found
  6. i have msi z97 guard pro with i5 4690k 4.5ghz profile - 1.28v(core) 255w(turbo Boost Short Power MAx) 105w(turbo boost power max) 256A(processor current limit) 1.24v(cache V) nothing else touched. 8hr stress tested and stable. ive had, and been using stable OC for 3days now. i attempted to push for 4.6 because im still under 1.3v but after i tried and struck out. i tried to reload my 4.5ghz profile but it wont work and ive tried even giving it 1.3v but its still unstable and crashes after 2m in stress test. just cant figure out why my profile wont work anymore.... any one have any ideas??
  7. damn. i thought i had a solid idea. turns out im a noob. thanks guys! lol
  8. so if most games only utilize the first core more than others would i benefit from overclocking core 1 to 4.8ghz and other 3 to 4.3ghz instead of all cores at 4.5ghz? or perhaps 1 at 5ghz with 3 at 4.2ghz?
  9. thank for the video! it shows alot. i think i will have to OC to 4.5ghz for now and perhaps ill be building a whole new pc when ryzen matures. that way i can give my wife this gaming pc and have a newer one. im stuck on devils canyon and the 4790k was also bottlenecked quite a bit(up to 30fps) as well so i will need a new mobo and ddr4 to support a new chip anyway.
  10. so i fixed it. not really sure how but ill tell my methodology. i pulled my gpu and cleaned it with a can of air and rehooked up everything. now i get a bad_pool_header message when i turn on my pc but doesnt do anything different. started doom. still shuts off display. so i changed my monitor resolution to 720p. opened doom and monitor stayed on long enough to change game resolution to 720p and lowest settings. game works. so i gradually increased resolution untill crash. but no crash and all settings back to 1440p max and all games work now.... hmm. changed display resolution back to 1440p and still all working fine. so not sure what that means.. but everything works as designed. haha
  11. not overclocked. doesnt get above 50c and a 750w psu so im not sure the issue.. should i reinstall the driver? i get up to 54c while playing child of light. not a very graphics intense games. but any game that is crashes after the intro cut scenes.. rainbow 6 siedge went all the way till a match started. so maybe the cards dying...?
  12. as title says. i have a 1440p monitor ive never had an issue playing any games till recently playing witcher 3 blood and wine expansion(3days ago). monitor shut off and pc still on still hear sound but nothing working and have to force restart pc. was only witcher at first so i thought game was issue. now i cannot play any game(dying light, witcher, fallout and doom, i can still play like child of light tho) my gpu doesnt get above 50c when crashes. fans go from 40% to 100% when monitor goes black. i updated drivers and still not working. my specs are i5 4690k r9 290x 16gb ram 750psu msi guard pro g97 mobo 250gb ssd 1tb hdd
