  1. Hi. So, I have this old desktop sitting around (Compaq Presario SR1403WM) that I was going to slap an ssd into. But, the product is no longer supported by HP. When I boot it up with a hdd that has ubuntu server, it does just fine and runs everything just as any computer would. However, when I boot with the ssd containing windows, its does not boot at all. I was thinking that maybe if a bios update could be burned to a flash drive and then made into a self executing file, then maybe it would update correctly and allow me to install some version of windows. Thanks!
