  1. I want a QHD ultrawide (3440 x 1440p) of prefferably a reputable brand. 5-700$ is my budget Im in the US (California) Some slower paced games, strategy, MMOs and the like, no FPS (which is why I don't think I need 144hz) Going to be used with my new system: Intel Core i5-8400 --- 16GB (2x8) DDR4-3200 --- Samsung 960 EVO 250GB M.2-2280 SSD --- Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 6GB AMP!
  2. What do everybody think about the new LG UC80 (Amazon Link)? I am looking for a new Monitor and this one caught my eye
  3. A fair amount of my gaming is old Adventure games and MMO's where FPS and GPU is probably the least of my concerns, my biggest "performance boost" would be in decreasing the sometimes significant loading times between different areas, and I read that fast storage was the key to doing so.
  4. I do have a NAS for all my media files, so it would only be for Games and Software. But I did leave room in the budget to add a 1 or 2TB HDD for extra storage later should I need to.
  5. I bought the CPU, the rest is "reserved for pickup" later today unless I change my mind
  6. 7. From a pure value for $$$ probably not, but I've waited long enough already I've been wanting to build this new computer for months since the old one should have been retired 3 years ago, so I spent a little extra on a Z370 board to accommodate a Coffee Lake CPU, also hoping it gives me a little future proofing for future upgradeabillity.
  8. I got a Z370 to support a new Coffee Lake CPU as far as I can tell those are still the only boards supporting that CPU.
  9. So looking at the new I5-8400 it lists a native memory support of "DDR4-2666" How should I interpret this? Does this mean that I won't see any benefit from running say 3000 or 3200 mhz memory?
  10. It just looks so whimpy But duely noted, thanks!
  11. I couldn't find one, do you have a link? The price difference appears to be 13 dollars (at least on the Corsair Vengeance LPX) Is it really that small of a difference that it's worth saving 13 bucks? Noted, appreciated the feedback! I couldn't find a much cheaper 1050 TI, any suggestions? Noted, appreciated the feedback! Noted, appreciated the feedback!
  12. Hey fellow nerds, It has been years since I've build a computer and have just been "gaming" on a work laptop, I play mostly Grand Strategy (EU4 and the like) And the occasional MMO, no tripple A shooters or the like. I was playing around with PCpartspicker and wanted a decent "middle of the road" machine with future upgrade potential in mind and have come up with the following: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel - Core i3-8350K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($178.89 @ OutletPC) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - Hyper T2 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($16.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: MSI - Z370-A PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($121.98 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($169.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital - Blue 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($89.88 @ OutletPC) Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB SSC GAMING ACX 3.0 Video Card ($154.99 @ Amazon) Case: Corsair - 100R ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: EVGA - BQ 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($54.99 @ Amazon) Total: $837.70 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-10-11 17:21 EDT-0400 Any comments on my choice of parts? Any tips?
