  1. There isnt enough, i have 2 fans left over i cannot control, as ive had to run them off the PSU, and my OCD is killing me haha Would using fan splitters from the motherboard allow individual control? Or even control in pairs etc? Ill take a look thanks
  2. Right i have a Lian Li PC-08 case It doesnt have any 5.25" bays for a fan controller I have 8 fans, of which 2 are on my Corsair rad and liquid cooler H100i So i need something which can control the other 6 fans, using software preferably as theres nowhere to physically mount anything else with easy access unless it was external Could anyone point me in the right direction to a good controller/splitter which would be suited to 6 fans (3 pin) and have software for control Thanks
  3. Ive measured and its a 60mm space, so ordered the 1 slot 60mm space NVIDIA one, hopefully it fits! Thanks
  4. Just to add, im using the ASUS SLI flexible bridge i got with my Hero VIII board, im waiting for the ASUS ROG Enthusiast bridge to be delivered Monday, not sure if this will help but im out of ideas!
  5. Ok im getting random no signal received and sometimes screen flickering, last time it happened i was playing GTA V full screen in 4k, i used alt+tab to go to desktop, and got crazy screen flickering, and i could not get the display back, had to restart the computer I have 1080 Strix in SLI Asus 27" PG27AQ 4K IPS G-Sync ROG Gaming Monitor Power settings are set to performance in windows as ive seen this can cause issues Im using HDMI cable from GFX card 1 I have a 1000w platinum EVGA PSU Im using NVIDIAs recommended settings in game, and windows resolution is set to 4k Anyone have any ideas what can cause this? I dont see any pattern, i get the screen flicker less often than the complete loss of signal, but i did have this happen when i had 980 Ti' in SLI too, so i think that rules out the cards themselves, but could be a setting somewhere? I only had the 980s for a few days and returned them when the 1080s came in stock, and monitor is 1 week old also. Thanks
  6. Its only since upgrading to the 1080s from the 980s so im, wondering if its still buggy, also there for mainly DX11, and i run 12, so that could be the issue, waiting to hear from 3dMark devs
  7. Ive noticed during 3d Mark benchmarks its getting a blackscreen mid way, im wondering if it isnt getting enough power for the high end benchmarking testing, any thoughts? I think i will try with 4 seperete cables and see if the issue goes
  8. Im installing two 1080 GTX in SLI, its an 8 pin and a 6 pin on the card Is this wire ok to use Its an 8 PIN to 6/2 and 8 PIN Any advice welcome, I would use 1 of these for each card?
  9. Yea it certainly does! Thanks Anyone else used anything similar or have any other ideas?
  10. Yea i thought that, any ideas what the actual stand is for/from?
  11. Does anyone know if this fan stand/holder in the picture is a custom job or if there available online? I need something exactly like this to have a self standing fan in that exact posision in that exact case (Lian Li PC-08) Any ideas? Thank you
  12. After considering everything, im going to return the cards, there only 6 days old, and swap for 2x 1080 (which are only 4cm deep, compared to the 5.2cm deep that Zotac 980 GTX ti AMP EXTREME are) It'll cost me around £400 more but i wanted the 1080 anyway but ha no patience, but there now in stock ha Thanks for all the suggestions everyone
  13. That looks like a good idea All depends if theres the space for it, will look into it. Thanks
  14. Another option may be changing the cards to 2 different 980's which are smaller? Can anyone advise?
  15. Yea i know i need a gap, but i think the cheapest fix is a different mobo which allows me to have more space between the cards, but im not sure which mobo would be suitable I tested the temps with an inch gap and they were perfect, but its not possible on this mobo
  16. I dont quite understand if its possible or not, ive got the manual in front of me (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/MAXIMUS_VIII_FORMULA/E11081_MAXIMUS_VIII_FORMULA_UM_WEB.pdf?_ga=1.48053991.1954749741.1468153946) Its my first build, so i need a little help Can i use slot 2 and 6? Its page 1-24 if someone can advise me Thanks
  17. I would happily change the mobo, that seems the cheapest option at the moment, just worried if i change it, and get a similar problem, would the Asus Maximus Formula VIII be a better option? Im not sure if i could use the 1st and 3rd PCIe slots on it, giving me a bigger gap?
  18. Nope i already tried a PCIe riser, not even close to being able to fit
  19. Right i really need some advice as i am out of ideas Setup is: ASUS Maximus Hero VIII Zotac 980 GTX TI Amp Extreme in SLI Lian Li PC-08 Case My GFX cards in SLI are not working together - top card is reaching 91 degrees under load - bottom is 60-65 MAX! They are that big there basically touching - which is whats causing the top card to get so hot as its fans are blocked off I cannot use the third PCIe slot as its not compatible Ive tried using a PCIe Riser but theres not enough space for it to allow me to drop the bottom card a little creating a gap for air Im basically out of ideas Im not experienced enough for a custom loop nor do i think theres enough space Im thinking either - change the motherboard to one which would allow me to space the cards out more creating more space for air Maybe liquid cooling the top card? But im not sure it would fit Any other ideas are welcomed as im at my wits end with it now Ive attached a picture so you can see how close they are Thanks
  20. Maximus Hero VIII - thanks Using first 2 available 16 slots - first and second basically
  21. There just backwards, GPU 1 is labeled as 2, GPU 2 is labeled as 1
  22. Ive looked everywhere, cant find anything in the manual or online
  23. Im running 2 Zotac 980 GTX Ti AMP EXTREME in SLI and for some reason Firestorm is recognizing my top card (first PCIe 16 slot closest to CPU) as GPU 2 in the software? Anyone know why this is?
  24. So now its just a case of fitting it all in ha. The USB 3.0 which is below the bottom GPU can be moved if i use a USB 3.0 splitter in the other USB 3.0 slot. Everything else down there is really small and i think will fit ok behind the gfx card if i just drop it down a little bit.. hopefully ha
