  1. The old one was cable, now its fibre. Unfortunately I dont know what any of the "DMZ" and "UPNP" means, so Im not an expert. Also, I cant use my old ISPs router since I had to send it back, and the new fibre one has a special cable and plug.
  2. Dont know how / where to check, sorry. I did in my old appartment, but thats because the old ISP modem was just a moden, no router / wifi router. Now my new ISP has a wifi router, and im only using that.
  3. Hi guys, I´ve got a new internet provider since I moved earlier this year. My hardware and software hasn´t changed, other than the new modem / router from the new ISP. I´m regularly getting disconnects from pretty much any game I play, but everything else (Twitch, Discord, Downloads) is fine. I´ve tried flushing and renewing DNS, repairing those games clients, everything is up to date. Maybe it´s an issue with ports? Hope you can help me, cheers.
  4. Hi guys, im using an old monitor (Asus PG278QR, TN Panel) and always used a color profile. The profile also changed brightness and contrast / black levels, so when applying it, it was immediately noticeable, on the Dekstop aswell as Chrome / Discord / everywhere (so no profile which you only can see in Photoshop, Gimp etc). I recently installed DisplayCal (+Argyll), hoping I can do some tuning to one of my new monitors, but sadly you also need the hardware for it. I returned the new monitor (LG IPS) and decided to uninstall DisplayCal, and stick with my old Asus. Since then my ICC profile wont load at windows startup anymore, it is always set as the standard profile, the "use my settings for this device" checkmark is checked, the "use windows calibration" checkmark is also checked. My question is, is there anyway to fix this, or did DisplayCal maybe leave some traces in Windows / the registry, and if so, is there software to check if DisplayCal has been completely removed. Thanks!
  5. The dream would be an automatic backup of all of C (the complete drive with all settings, files, registry, windows settings, installed programs etc). By automatic I mean weekly or something like that, and this can be done by backing up everything fresh everytime and then delete the older backup, or just update the backup to mirror the current state of C. What are you using the machine for? - Private machine, nothing suuuuper important like work stuff, just personal stuff What are your main concerns? - hardware failure How often/much is your system changing? - hardware not often at all, maybe 3 times a year (new HDD or something small) - software ofc daily / weekly Can the system be off (as in "not usable") while running the backup or do you need backups while the machine is being used? - up to the program, I dont mind either Are you comfortable using a more advanced backup system or do you need a "single button noob solution"? - basically the backup contains a private computer windows with games and programs installed + a few personal data, so I´d say a noob solution would be plenty enough, since I am looking for such a backup solution out of pure laziness to backup / copy everything manually by myself and out of straight paranoia that IF something happenes to C, I need to do everything from scratch again (install every program, download every exe, setting up everything, too lazy for that) Is your focus on saving your system settings, or the system as a whole? - system settings, windows settings, all installed programs and their settings, all folders and subfolders and their location, basically a complete mirror of C://, so when I need to do a backup because lets say power outage and my SSD is dead, I load my backup data and voilas, windows is there like it was, all data is there, all programs are installed, everything is working, woohoo Do the backups need to be able to interrupt and continue on demand or are you ok with letting your system run until it's finished? - since my whole C (mainly programs, games, some files) is only 250GB, it can be done in one whole sitting I realize that for my purpose the solution I am looking for might be waaaay to professional / overkill, but if there is such a solution, even for a monthly fee, I wouldnt mind!
  6. question for 3 (copies of the data), what software would you recommend? also, im not only trying to protect / backup files, but my whole system (windows with settings and stuff) is this possible? Because only for data I have Dropbox / iCloud / etc. Thanks!
  7. Hey guys! , im looking for a backup program / provider / cloud service / etc that can basically backup my complete ssd drive. Im concerned of hardware and software failure, and want to protect a running windows (like system recovery stuff) and if possible everything else like games, music, desktop picture, settings, apps, etc. So basically a program / service which backs up my complete C drive, either to another HDD or to the cloud, and which lets me do recovers from those backups. Is there anything in existence other than copy pasta everything to a new HDD? I´d like to auto-backup everything weekly or so. Thanks! P.S. Im using Windows 10, currently C (my boot ssd) is 250GB big.
  8. I have a new PC with 32gb of Ram, with other explorers is doesnt happen / atleast I cant recreate the error.
  9. Hey guys, so recently (like for 3 months or so), Chrome sometimes (80% of the time) crashes when I access files from my local PC via Chrome. What does that mean? For example, you apply for a job, online, and need to upload your data to their website, so I click "choose file", search for the resume on my local PC, and upload it to their job form. Sometimes Chrome crashes when clicking "choose" and the window is about to pop up which lets me browse my local PC, sometimes it Crashes when I select the file and then hit upload or just "select". I already tried disabling all extensions and reinstalled Chrome multiple times. Any help appreciated.
  10. Yeah, too bad its ugly as hell But if it works, im very happy. I will report back once I have finished studying for my anaesthesia exam later tonight.
  11. Well I associate Microsoft with Windows, which is kinda not Mac and not iOS, if you know what I mean. But for my surprise I just found a Microsoft Office app on the app store of my iPhone...
  12. Well the ? indicated you dont have a clue either? I dont know if Outlook 16 is capable of doing what I asked for, thats why I am asking you guys
  13. Hey guys, so I am in the need of a good eMail program. The most important part is that a) it should work on Windows and iOS (and Mac if possible, but not a requirement) b) it should support 3 email accounts. The easierst would be a unified inbox, so I have 1 inbox for all 3 emails. If this wont work, 3 seperate inboxes would be fine too. Most important is, as stated above, I need it for home (Windows) and on the go (iOS). I use my Mac for work, and ofc. it would be a nice to have, but I always got my phone with me, so if the program does not support Mac, its not a deal breaker. Also, it does not have to be free. Cheers!
  14. the most stable desk would be if you take a countertop out of massive wood, choose the size yourself obv. mount it on 4 massive high grade steel table legs, and done. You get those things in pretty much every DIY market and Ikea.
  15. do you have an IPS monitor? are the colors really that big of a difference after reading alot of reviews and watching side by side comparisons, this seems minor most people argue that the best thing about IPS is the view angle, not color or whatever
