  1. I'm wondering if you guys have any recommendations on mechanical keyboards with USB and audio passthrough. Brown or Red (or equivalent) switches would be nice and white or rgb backlighting would also be nice but it isn't necessary.
  2. I already know what kind of laptop I want and I've narrowed it down to two: a Dell Inspiron 2 in 1 and a Lenovo Yoga 730 . I wanted to know the biggest difference between the two and a battery life comparison or if anyone has one or the other tell me the pros and cons?
  3. Thanks, I normally avoid buying guides. I think I'm going to go with the UX360CA. Thanks for all your help!
  4. I'd prefer not to go the route of refurbished or used however I'd consider it if it were a good deal. Also thanks for the suggestions. I think I'm conisdering an Acer Swift or an Asus UX360 And what do you think about this laptop? https://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-700-series/Ideapad-720S-13-AMD/p/81BR003RUS?irgwc=1&clickid=Tpq2qcUmY1iaULFyiPVrNVzFUkjz0pU%3A83AJS00&PID=324528&acid=ww:affiliate:bv0as6 How would the Ryzen processor compare to an i5-8250?
  5. Sure. https://www.newegg.com/ https://www.frys.com/ https://www.bestbuy.com/ http://store.asus.com/us?_ga=1.248572610.4726566.1442529458 https://www.razerzone.com/store and https://www.amazon.com/
  6. I'm looking for a laptop for around $500-600 but I'm willing to stretch my budget a little higher. I don't plan on doing anything rigorous or extensive on it as I have a desktop for that, so no GPU required. I'd prefer portability over performance. The most I'd be doing is research (10+ chrome tabs open at once), word processing, note-taking, and excel work. I don't need the laptop to be convertible and I would actually prefer it not be. Requirements are 1920x1080 resolution or higher, 13-14" screen, webcam in the top bezel, under 1" thickness, and preferably have an SSD. Bonuses would be stuff like a touchscreen and backlit keyboard. Some laptops I've been looking at have been a Refurbished Razer Blade Stealth which I'm hesitant about because of things I've heard about Razer QC issues, an Asus Zenbook UX305, and a Zenbook UX360. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01578SQFU/?coliid=I1YIMZANM1AIKM&colid=2M0QDK515LZKO&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0773G6FPC/?coliid=I305YYXPHE1U9Z&colid=2M0QDK515LZKO&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it https://www.razerzone.com/c/Refurbished-Razer-Blade-Stealth/p/RZ09-01962E11-REFB
  7. I'm considering thin and light laptops to buy that will mainly be used for video chatting and youtube viewing and I was looking at the UX330UA-AH55 and I wanted to know about its camera and microphone quality before I made any purchases. I was also looking at the Fanless UX360CA.
  8. I would definitely go with something like a Gigabyte Aero 14 or 15. Great build quality with a professional/non-gamer aesthetic and a huge battery too. Here's one https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Aero-14Wv7-BK4-Notebook-i7-7700HQ/dp/B01MY2YYKB/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1511420906&sr=8-3&keywords=aero+14
  9. Thanks for the input. What you sent me does seem like a better performer and a better deal. I'll definitely take it into consideration.
  10. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HZT6AR0/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I35AASVV1H3ERS&colid=2M0QDK515LZKO I've been eyeing this laptop for a while and it seems like a great deal with 8Gb of ram and a 256Gb SSD but my concern is the m3 processor. I'm not really well versed in laptop processors as much as I am in desktop processors so I'm not really sure where the performance on this will fall. I assume it will be similar performance to last gen i3's but will that be enough for the work I'll be using this for? I'm pretty sure it will because I recently built a desktop that I will be using for all my heavy lifting and using this machine solely as a skype/youtube/occasional word processing/excel device also IO doesn't really affect me because I can't think of any time in the past year that I've actually plugged anything into my current laptop. Will this be enough for my needs or would it be worth it to drop some extra money on a better processor such as this UX330UA-AH55 with an 8th gen i5 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075N1YHVK/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I3QLKYM2BROQ6M&colid=2M0QDK515LZKO? I've also been looking at these two: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWZ7JNW/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I22ZB65U3G44SC&colid=2M0QDK515LZKO https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0746P25QX/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I16RK8N9EB8NNW&colid=2M0QDK515LZKO
  11. I want a thin and light with a good webcam and microphone because I do a lot of video chatting. I built a desktop already so I really don't need performance, I'm just looking for a few key things. 1080p or higher Webcam at the top of the screen Thin (under an inch) and light (under 3 lbs) Screen size between 11" and 14" And like I said I'll pretty much only be using it to video chat, watch youtube videos, and occasional word processing in docs or word so I dont need a powerful cpu. Something like an i3 or i5 is fine. Definitely dont need an i7. And my price range is between $500-750 but it can go a little higher. Some that I have already been looking at are the Acer Swift 3 or an Asus Zenbook. Do you guys have any suggestions?
  12. Honestly whatever you prefer. I personally use Xbox one controllers and if you prefer wireless, you can occasionally find them on sale bundled with a wireless dongle for around $30-40
  13. What made you decide to go with an i5 rather than a Ryzen build or even an i7
