All the Systems at the workplace are macs, I was planning to build a FreeNas, but i do not have any idea regarding RAM cache/SSD cache

Synology in India is way too expensive. I was planning on using my old i3 computer , for this. Also, an ultra noob , question, Most motherboards support Gigabit LAN right? So connecting my PC to the Router and Another laptop to the same router using lan cable should give me good speeds.

Hello good people, i am planning to setup a NAS for local backups of all my computers on the network at my workplace. What is the best way to achieve good speed, while transfering on the network , and also how should i setup the NAS, any proprietary solutions , or dedicate a seperate PC and OS for this job. Thank you

it went fine. It crashed only when idling , like left doing nothing on the desktop screen and go out to have lunch kinda idling. no crashes yet, after putting 650w Corsair PSU

ran prime 95 for 7 hours.

The play a game thing does not work, as both times i was able to game for 4-5 hours and the system died when i left it doing nothing and went out.

Any suggestions on how to stress test the setup?

Yes ordered a Corsair VS650w PSU, it is arriving tomorrow. Just plug that thing and run my computer for a couple days. (hopefully).

I am getting a new PSU this weekend, going for 600w, to remove the wattage deficiency doubt as 450 and 500 died. If that PSU dies, i will RMA the MB

Have returned the PSU , waiting for a replacement. Shall go for a 550w this time. if this PSU dies as well, then the Mobo is a goner.

it did for like half a second in the beginning, after repeated tries it doesn't anymore.

So i need to replace the PSU that is for sure. Should i try the newer PSU with my old motherboard or not. ?

I understand, my old psu might have killed my mobo, but what about my old mobo, i never installed GFX on that. Also why is my system dying, when it is idling and not when i am gaming, when resources are at their peak usage.
