  1. Hello all, I purchased a new router (R9000) to replace a older router that I have, but Chromecast can't keep a connection anymore. First I purchased a x10 at Best Buy for retail price $500. This router I setup and keeped the same SSID and password and everything worked perfectly. Amazon had a lighting deal for the same router for $380. I tried to price March it at BestBuy but they didn't do it because of the deadline time. So I returned the one I purchased from Bestbuy and brought from Amazon to save some money. The first one amazon sent me was an open box with power cord hanging out of the box and the router could not connect to the internet. I called and they sent me a new one. Now this one I changed SSID and password, had to reconfigure all my devices, and everything works fine except Chromecast. When ever my wife stream a tv show from Brazil on different computers after a while, random times, Chromecast loses connection and stop mirroring. Laptop still stream the show when chromecast loses connection but if could be due to buffered video. Chromecast reconnects after couple minutes, but I'm not able to find it on Chrome Browser anymore. I have a strong feeling that is something to do with the router as my previous router was working and also the one from BestBuy. But I'm not 100% sure as I think It might have something to do whenever I reconfigured Chromecast it could have screwed something up. What you guys think? Should I ask amazon to replace this router too and see if same problem occur? Also this is happening in 2 Chromecast and from 2 different computer, one wired and one wireless. I also have a nvidia shield that has chromecast built in, but this one is working fine. Please let me know what you guys think, and if anyone have any ideia what's going on. Thanks.
  2. I still for the life of me can't figure it out why is doing it. Recently I have gotten another amp, a outlet ground checker and the problem still happens. I believe it has something to do with static electricity but I would a way to fix this. Anyone?
  3. I agree the top 8 pin cable is not connected... i believe is the one that supplies power to the cpu. you are missing that o
  4. Please help me find the right settings in my MB BIOS. I took few pictures from each tab. Let me know what to change or if anymore info is needed. Thank you. Also made a video using iPhone
  5. Hello does anyone knows what could have caused the problem? I just reformatted my pc and all was good, multiple restarts and was all fine BIOS post then windows. After sometime a blinking underscore on a black screen started and it's taking about 10-15 sec longer now to boot. I think it happened after I installed Killer Ethernet Driver and Sound Blaster driver, but I'm not sure. I'm to a point of doing another clean install just to diagnostic the problem. Also I have my case open and the motherboard hangs on code AE until loads windows. When it's loaded everything is fine and I get post A0. Any help much appreciated.
  6. So Im getting this static popping sound on my HD650 only when moving my chair. My chair sits on top of a plastic chair mat on a carpet floor. If i move my chair rapidly and for a extend period of time for test purpose, the static charge increases to a point where I can fell a little shock on my ears. When I hold my wooden desk it does not happen, neither if I stand still and jiggle the cable around. I run my headphones through a Magni 2 amp and at first I thought that it was a ground issue with it, I plugged direct into my computer and I have the same issue. I'm afraid that this will ended up ruining my headphones. Does anyone knows what's going on? Thanks
  7. its funny, it starts to pass comfort level but is bearable. are headphones amps designed to prevent this kind of damages to headphones or is that the magni 2 does not have enough power to drive these to it's full potential? Thank you though for you quick response.
  8. Hello everyone, I recently received my HD 650, which is very different from the Logitech G35 virtual sound that I have been using for years, and I have some questions about it. First every where that I read comments and reviews, talk about getting a Amp to go with it. At first with my onboard sound it already sounds loud enough for me that if I havent placed a order for the amp, I probably wouldn't have done so. I ended up getting a Magni 2 but testing it today, the sound difference is nothing like I thought it would be. On high gain I can tell that I started noticing a difference in volume when maybe 15%-20% was left to max it out. Is that normal? Maybe that is price/performance of the magni 2? Another thing is that maxing the volume all the way, can it damage the headphones? Does the magni 2 have enough power to "blow" the hd650? I dont understand none of the spec on the sheets of the products, like omhs or rms... Thank you.
  9. Thank you all for all the input. What I take from the comments is that the HD 650 is overkill for my needs and wont be much of difference in sound quality for gaming. That's one step closer for me to cancelling the order. I place the order on Adorama and it's the first time I ordered from them and they still have not shipped it yet, so I think they will process it tomorrow, so I still have until tonight to cancel it. If order goes through is seen that I have 30 days to return it, but will pay shipping fees. I really wanted to try the HD 650 because of the so many great reviews it gets every where. It must be good lol.. every shopping website reviews are 4.5+ stars, but the difference in price is almost double for the performance I'll be getting. And yes I would need a separate mic as well so there will be another $50. If I have to get an amp, what is the cheaper best amp that will do a good job on drive them? I mean I want something not so crazy expensive but that can do the job right. I'm trying to figure total final cost, and see if I really want to spare the extra cash, just for the sake of trying something different. Also I have a GA-Z170X-Gaming GT which have Creative SoundCore™ 3D Gaming Audio, will that help at all?
  10. I'm to a point where I don't know if I should cancel my order and get a dedicated gaming headset or keep them and buy all the extras that is needed to enjoy it's fully potential. I wanted to get a Astro headset, but people keep telling me that I should buy a headphone and a mix amp separated to achieve the best quality possible. But my main concern is that these headphones (Sennheiser HD's) are great for music and not so much for gaming, Im more concern in being able to tell foot steps, helicopters, pin point where things are happening, than sound quality, as I'm not sure if I'll be able to tell the difference between normal quality to good quality sound. I'm not to pick about sound, maybe because I never had a good pair of headphones, my current is a Logitech G35. Is the HD 650's able to emulate surround sound? Also now is seen that I need to buy a amp / dac to drive this headphone which it will cost even more. I paid 300 for the 650 and willing to spend 200 more if necessary. Can I achieve good sound with that budget?
  11. "Side note if you can still return things Do you need the vertical resolution of 1440p? Because if not you could totally just go for a triple 1080p 144hz TN set up, and just run a single like 480 for under $1000 with a bad ass set up, the display in question is actually pretty good for a TN display" I think I can, as I believe newegg even though they say that is not returnable, but I guess if it's not opened I could. And the monitor I havent yet place an order for it. The only thing is that I dont really like the way multiple monitors looks with the bezel dividing them. currently I have 2 HP w2207 and one w2408h. and I only use the 2408h, sometimes I do turn the others as extra desktop space, but never really liked for gaming. But here what is making me look for an upgrade, and also I see your point, If I keep my current monitor the 108o gpu will be a waste (too much power for this monitor), but if I upgrade the monitor it will not be enough to experience all the features it has.
  12. Again thanks for all the tips, you know, to be honest, I think I just went with the hype. I was just dying for an upgrade my current card is a AMD HD 6770, all my friends are getting a 1080. So I was like, i might get one too. Yean about 4k I also heard about it and I don't plan on using it until it matures enough. What made me think about getting a 144hz monitor is that everyone keeps talking about how good it's. but I didnt really know how it worked, I just thought that you get a good card, a monitor and boom everything should work, apparently is not like that. Still it wouldn't be a bad idea to get something like that (1440, 144hz) and invest in a 1080ti (if performs well) or maybe SLI the 1080 which I don't know how SLI works also, I heard that it doesn't work on all games, is that true? But then I only have to upgrade the GPU and wait 2-3 to maybe start looking into 4k gaming? About TN panel, 1ms vs 4ms... I think I have my mind set on a IPS already, but I'm just afraid that when playing games and things like getting killed with one shot or something like that, and in the back of my head I'm thinking did this guys saw me first because my monitor is not a 1ms? haha (just an excuse for my bad gaming skills, I know xD)
  13. Thanks for the info. I'm sorry for my lack of experience. I got a 1080 because I just thought about getting the best I could in one card at the moment. And the reason for picking one of those monitor and not free sync one, is because I thought that for get the benefits of free sync I would have to go with AMD and GSync, Nvidia. There is also a cheaper monitor that I have seen quite few times on sale which is the Dell S2716DG for $480. Maybe I should go with that one for now... Now the bench you linked I see it's doing 85 fps, which is seen great for me... but then again is that a problem 85 not reaching 144? is that how it works? I did not know that.=/
  14. I see, everyone keeps telling me that. I'm using a 24 at the moment and I just fell that I want more. I guess 27 will do for now. I have a large desk and my keyboard/mouse tray can come out very far, a larger monitor would work here I guess. I just wanted to fell the difference in upgrading to a new monitor. Another 3" maybe wont give me that fell. But that is also resolution, going from 1080 to 1440 probably that would be noticeable.
