  1. Hello there! I crawled the entirety of my BIOS, and could not find "Legacy Mode" but I am certain that CMS is enabled, I have tried with the IGPU disabled and enabled. I know that I am not running in a "legacy" mode because I am in the UEFI not actual "bios" sorry for the confusion, I still use BIOS to refer to the new iteration sometimes. as I mentioned above, the BIOS is running the most up to date version as I have flashed it. Thanks for all the suggestions so far!
  2. Thanks for the reply! As I mentioned in the above post, I have in fact flashed it to the latest bios, unless I'm missing anything I'm pretty certain its up to date.
  3. Sorry, should have included this, its an ASROCK B250M-HDV
  4. Hello one and all! Hope you are doing well. Recently purchased a RX 580 8 GB to install in my others computer which had a 1050 TI prior that ran fine, upon installation it has failed to provide any output what so ever. I have tried reseating it 5 or so times, along the power connectors certainly are inserted correctly. I DDU'd the computer before inserting the card, it fails to appear in "devices" what so ever, and I have toggled "show hidden devices" as well. Now the GPU certainly is not dead, I know this because the fans are spinning normally and I actually tossed in my main rig to confirm it wasn't the issue. I have flashed the BIOS to the most recent edition, tried to install radeon graphics but naturally it suggests to me that I do not have a graphics card installed. I only have 1 PCIE slot so I can't test it on another on the board. Heres where I am at: I think its either the PSU or the Mobo. I had this issue in the past when trying to install a 960 (never figured it out, exact same problem actually, got a 1050 TI because I couldn't deal with it anymore) But heres the thing, I hooked the PC up beside my main PC and corded over the PCIE power cables from my 1000 Watt PSU and the problem persisted, ( I don't know if this actually a valid way of testing whether or not it could be a power delivery issue...) So at this point im kind of leaning towards some issue with the MOBO. I have a 450 Bronze EVGA PSU (from my understanding more than fine for the RX 580, albeit suggested of 500 watts, and im running an I3 7100 which is quite a low TDP so im honestly stuck between a rock and a hard place. If I recall correctly, when I tried to correct the same problem with the 960 in the past I actually swapped PSU's much to my pain and suffering but ended with the same result. Desperate for any help, I think I honestly need to get a new MOBO.... Thank you so much for your input and help <3
  5. Okay guys solved it! Thanks for the help. Apparently my CPU just wanted to see the light of day or something... reseated it and took off cpu cooler ect then booted up fine. Kind of strange.
  6. Hello all! Once again I find myself on these lovely forums seeking some advice. I recently replaced an old power supply with something stronger, a thermaltake 750W toughpower, everything seemingly went smooth until I tried booting. everything lit up and the computer was on besides the CPU and CPU Fans not working. CPU debug was lit up, initially thought it was the power cable as I had some struggle putting it in. See below for a list of what I have tried so far, to no avail. Unplugged and replugged CPU power cable on both PSU end as well as CPU end 10 or so times. CMOS battery removal Tried unplugging and re plugging my 24 pin as well used old power supply and jumped it with a paperclip to try and see if it might be something faulty with the PSU and that power cable for the CPU, not the case. Removed CPU cooler fans and replugged those with no avail. Considering taking out the cooler and reseating the CPU as my next step. Any other suggestions? 7. So at this point I am gonna sell the card since it works, I bought my friends 960 off him which worked in the system. Weird world, cheers guys. Thanks for all the help! PM me if you want to buy a 480 for 420$ lmao!
  8. Sadly it did not work. Tried it in gen 1 2 3 and auto settings for the lanes Also tried buggering some other PCIE settings to no avail. Got some sorta good news, got a GTX 960 coming tonight from a friend that ill be able to test in the system.
  9. Ooo thats promising I will give such a try! Also, the BIOS is the latest version.
  10. Which I also did to no avail... lol honestly im so stumped on this one! 100+ points to whoever can solve this nightmare lol.
  11. Yea I figured that myself after further investigation. In addition I attempted a "floor computer" and did not have any sucess, and noticed to clearance on the heat sink was totally fine plus everything else.
  12. Yea it should be fine either way, if you start noticing crashes relating to temps though you would probably have a fairly easy time getting a return or replacement.
  13. Well the lack of throttling is awesome to hear then! Yea it would most certainly void the warranty sadly. I don't know too much about a cooling pad but it could help. When I think about a cooling pad I imagine it simply reducing the temperature outside the computer, namely the underside and parts that might sit on you. I don't think it would affect internal thermals. But, its certainly worth a shot id say!
  14. Ohh wow okay that changes things a lot. Yea thats fairly normal for a laptop, it sort of sucks but its the nature of many models. It may be thermal throttling itself as well. its technical max temp is 100 C so unless dell advertised a certain temperature returning it would be difficult and potentially useless. If you really want to see some better thermals buy some after market Thermal compound or even liquid metal and see if you can apply it to the CPU Die. Could see big improvements through that, otherwise its sorta a way she goes thing.
