Just played around with light to fit the overall theme here.

Dont take this PC serious. Dont do what I do. Its a crazy machine, its not ideally cooled and it have so many compromises - but it works pretty damn well for my need so im very happy with it

Yes. GPU fans are off, as like you noticed, they would not really work like this. 

Just ran Superposition on the 8K setting, it got me up to 90C with 0 GPU fan use. I think thats allright, considering its a factory overclocked 6800XT we are talking about.

Also just ran 10 minutes of CB

Both the score and the temp dont look that far off. 
Mind you I ran this without any OC because I normally dont push it so extreme when I use it normal. 

And there you have it - the build is done!

And it really ROCKS this combo now with the i9 and the 6800XT

As you can maybe tell by that last picture, now we start to add some colors

First a picture from the front. This case looks pretty stylish, it got these stripes and NOTHING on the front, other than a nametag with RGB led on the corner.
You can also see the button push side panel, its super clever! No tools needed to remove the really thick piece of tempered glass InWin have chosen to use

At the very first power on the PC looked like this

Thats before I push the remote and turn it on.
Wait a second... Yes, remember the PC is in a closet in the other end of my studio - so I have a Silverstone radio frequency remote thing to turn on the PC with, you can kinda see the receiver above the graphic card, a tiny little PCIe card with a build in antenna

Fun fact, I actually finished the build the 25th of December, and the default light when I turned it on looked like this - kinda like christmas

Wait... its more obvious when dark, so I waited all day and took the same picture again, without changing the LED effects, as standard it shift through all the colors and looked like this

First one Im not really proud to show - the backside. This case is TINY and I have pushed SO much hardware in that cable management is not really an option (or if it is, show me!)

There you can see what I wrote about I cut away a little of the case so I can route the 3 piece cable around.

Next up a little odd thing I have done - look at this connector

Yes its a fan connector, but its external, outside the case (and yes I scrambled my fingerprint, just in case)

Reason for that external fan connector, is that I have a high power fan port on my motherboard, that drives a fansplitter above the PC.

Up here is 3x ML140 fans and 4x ML120 fans, that draw in colder outside air into the closet the PC sit in. Its filtered so no dust or mosquitos or anything else from outside come in that way - it really works well! But it was little odd making 2 holes in my house for this reason...

You can see the 140 fans above the PC when its placed in its place. 
Oh yes, and that tree inside is a airfreshner... Its sort of my "mark" until I get a better idea to customize a build

Mirrors are there to help me when I cable it in, I literally cant see a thing without a flashlight and the mirrors

And YES it absolute fits perfectly!

We are back to having a similar quirk as in the old build, now there is NO space between the front of the graphics card and the nearest fan, but the back end is clear this time

As you maybe notice, I have NOWHERE to route the big 3x PCIe power cable, other than leaving 1 of the side fans out.
I ended up cutting away a small portion of the case on the backside of that spot, to route the cable else even the back sidepanel would have been a problem.
Im not quite sure InWin had THIS much hardware in mind when they designed the 103...

No need for a GPU bracket, I basically just use the fans

You see that space in between the top rad fans and the AIO, until where the AIO hoses are

Yes that space there, look at the length of the graphic card, it actually looks like it just about fits!

Maybe you noticed that the RAM heatspreaders look a little odd.

Its because I switched them out for some RGB enabled ones from Jonsbo. In my old build the RAM area got so hot the RAM heatspreaders have actually loosened and did not really have any use

So while I rebuild its time to fix that too

While on the subject of fixing things, I only have 2 hands, and in this build the 360 mount is in the bottom of the case. 
So I layed it on its side to mount the rad, meaning it was bit of a pain to hold in the 3x 120 that goes under it...

Until I remembered the case had these things to hold in the front panel cables!

Those twist ties can be cut into smaller pieces and used to temporary hold the fans in place!

In my old build I had this little quirk that my graphic card barely fit, there was literally a hairs thickness between the backend and the nearest fan

Hopefully the new case will remedy that a bit

As you can maybe tell by this image, the 103 case is pretty small!
It JUST about fits a ATX board like mine.

As you can maybe see here, there is not even space to route the USB and fan cables under the motherboard, only some of the slim RGB cables can go between the case wall and the board before running out of space

So now when I got the new CPU I thought, its time to do it right!

I ended up ordering the odd case InWin 103, because it fit into my special size requirements, it looks very different and it looked like it would fit all my hardware perfectly.
It took a while to arrive...

In the meantime I ended up also ordering a set of Cablemod cable extensions, because I thought this case have a glass side, and why not make it look really nice now I have the chance.

They also took absolute forever to arrive...

One of the really cool things about the Cablemod cables, is they have a model with 3x PCIe plugs, my graphic card need 3x so this is perfect! I had to order that...
Designed them so they are black and aluminium silver, so they fit my motherboard and graphic card that follow the same color scheme (or lack of color)

I have for long had bit of an issue with the case, the case did not fit my 360 AIO, so I mounted it on top and it all looked a little weird.

I have some limiting size restrictions for where the case is placed, so finding a new one have not been super easy.
My PC sits in a closet in the opposite end of the room of where my monitor and kb/mouse is, because of noise and because I can cool it with cold air from outside (more on that later)
But it means it have to be a specific size to fit and that made it pretty complicated to replace the case, while at the same time fitting a 360 rad.

Quick view of my old PC:

It all started with I was looking at new CPUs around Black Friday, found out that would no matter what be pretty expensive to upgrade my old trusty 8600K to something with more power, mainly because it would not only be the CPU, it would also mean a new motherboard - and if I wanted the same quality as my Z370 X Code is, those boards are expensive. So that plan was scrapped pretty quick. 

Until I found out, around here where I am 9900K models are getting cheaper, I guess so stores will sell out what they have and not get more, as those chips are kinda old now.

But with a BIOS update, my old motherboard would work with a i9 too, so I ordered one!

As you maybe know, the 8600K is a unlocked 6 core processor with a usual speed up to 4.3 GHz, I ran mine at 4.8-5GHz, depending on what I would do with it. Its been a real trooper, but when video editing it started to show signs of not really be enough.

The 9900KF I ended up with though, its a 8 core/16 thread CPU and quite a monster in comparison! Runs at a usual speed of 5GHz straight out of the box, but mine actually runs at 5.2GHz now instead, just to get a little extra out of it.

Well, I found some few YT videos about this machine, but not really any with this specific config. The difference being the 90 Hz OLED variant. The vides I found is with the IPS version, which is damn good too, but for a little bit more I can get the OLED so of course I have to try.
So I have no idea what I just ordered, because yes, it sounds to me like a pretty good deal so I ordered it...

I mean, I am a content creator so in that regard this sounds pretty amazing!

The only "issue" is its actually pretty hard to find a review of as far as i can tell, so have no idea if its real world good or just good on paper hmmm

I'd still buy this third variant over I5, But still consider something without dGPU, If you aren't going to game on laptop.

1165G7 sounds interesting to be fair, specially for battery life as thats more important to me than gpu is and would maybe also mean better future proofing. 

just found out the Swift 3 comes in a variant with 1165G7 for almost same price like the i5 version, which is kinda odd, but i dont complaint - i might go for that unless something more interesting comes up

actually... just found out...

I can get a Acer Swift X with a 3050ti and a 5800u for somewhere in between the asus and the other acer, its still quite a price bump from the Swift 3, and im very unsure if it for my use case would make any sense?

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Great screen, small size and good battery life

So let me fast tell you a little about myself, I work in finance by day, graphic designer in the evening and gamer at night - that pretty much sums it up.
I need a new laptop, not really for gaming, but I might use it for streaming games in my home from my actual gaming PC to the laptop.

My main concerns is I want one that is small, with a great screen, not totally underpowered as I only buy a new laptop every 4-5 years, good battery life.

I'm eyeballing 2 very different approaches here and have a hard time to choose between them:

The Acer cost ½ of the Asus around here, but the Asus look damn good, but I cant really see what is it exactly I get for the 50% more in price with the usecase I have or will the Swift not let me down?

I dont really consider anything else, because those two machines fit all the boxes of what I want, now I just need to choose

ah I see that now, I just found another thread saying that the HDMI is limited to 100Hz on HDMI if 1440p, and 120Hz if 1080p (on the model of monitor you have)

Yup, I see your issue there... I have another LG monitor, it does 165Hz on the DP, but only 60 on the HDMI, I guess the limit is in the bandwidth of the HDMI version used, to be totally sure you should find a monitor with HDMI 2.0 in, but I cant at the top of mind come to think of anyone who makes that

 

Here is a closer picture of the RAM in question, a 64GB (2x32) 3000Mhz Patriot Viper Steel

Pretty bad for overclocking, but really a good deal in terms of amount of memory.

I do a bit of video edit, sound and draw, so I have an actual use for the memory, 32 would make more sense, but this costed about the same as higher quality/speed 32GB sets, so I rather have the amount 

I could actually switch out the PSU without taking anything else but the sidepanels off, like in a normal case, this is just not a normal case, so it actually surprised me a bit

Now when I had the chance, I decided to clean up the cables a little, looks pretty neat I'd say

For now, It's running pretty smooth, I can mainly tell when I start the PC, that it starts a bit slower (it takes 30 seconds now, as supposed to around 10 before, so not a big deal), FPS is like 10-15 fps lower, so not a big deal either

I noticed that the GPU pull little more power now than before, it used to sit around 250-270 Watt, but most of the time it now pulls 280-300 watt when gaming, so guess the PSU efficiency did something (its about 45-50% power usage now, instead of like 70-75% on the old PSU)

Thats it for now, its done, again

UPDATE

So, remember when I said the original system had 16GB RAM?

I switched out the RAM somewhere between the rebuild and posting it here, so I was running it like a week with the old RAM, before the new RAM arrived.

That week worked super smooth, but something is up with Patriot Viper Steel, ever since I switched to the 64GB RAM I have random crashes to Windows, as in, the computer do not restart, its just whatever game I play, the game sometimes quit and I get no error.

The only thing I switched out was the RAM, so got to be that.

Anyway, long story short, I reset my overclock, run the system at basic for now, and just applied XMP.

At the same time, I also had found my much more powerful PSU, I thought it was a 1.000 watt, but nope... It's a AX1200, 1.200 watt!

So now I at least know it's not a power issue for the new GPU, the AsRock RX6800XT actually look pretty sweet

I named it iMbalance as it's a odd pair, the overclocked 8600K, with a bunch of drives, watercooled with a too large AIO, in a very small cube case, very many fans, 64GB RAM and a brand new kinda overpowered GPU - pretty much imbalanced, but it works

I have a old 1000 watt Corsair PSU I might consider putting in instead, I had a weird thing happen a day I tried Watchdogs Legion on Ultra, with 25% extra details and RTX on medium, it worked, had 25fps, but it quit unexpcted - I think it made a power spike it could not handle (it works smooth if I dial it down, just had to try)

Let me tell you btw, that aluminum filter that used to be there in the open part of the case, jesus it was glued on with something very strong.

Spend a good 30 minutes just trying to peel it off, but got it in the end
