  1. Hi, I am using a 9900k on a maximus xi extreme. Sometimes I have this popping sound on through my speakers. I have changed the output from different dacs and even experiencing this issue using my screen's built in speakers. On rare occasions, the whole system would freeze for a while then continue, with the audio being jittery, like when you rapidly pause and play a video repeatedly. I might have heard wrong but I experienced a popping sound while in the bios. I have tried the 3.5" jack, front and back panel usb and displayport(screen speakers) but the issue still exists. Uninstalled the Realtek driver as well. I have a feeling that it might be the clock module of the motherboard that is faulty that might cause a desync in the audio with the dac but that doesn't really explain the onboard audio glitch. Does anyone have any experience with this? It had never happened on my previous MB (gigabyte master).
  2. Directly contacted 2 companies. Both claimed that it likely a hardware failure.
  3. Yea checked around and it costs him around $1500, which is very difficult as he is already struggling to pay rent and school fees
  4. We've done that and also tried plugging into my system
  5. Hi, I am asking for a close friend. Recently we took out his old AX760i PSU to upgrade to a CM V1000 PSU and ensured there was no power cycling in the motherboard. After swapping the PSU he realised that the AX760i was a better fit for his case and put it back. The V1000 was never turned on. However, when he turned on the PC, it couldn't get past the bios screen into windows or would be stuck at the boot screen. When the ssd was taken out then the system could boot into windows. The sandisk ssd is to store data and did not contain any windows files and is about 5 or 6 years old. We've tried different sata plugs and different computers but the problem appears when the ssd is plugged into the PC. Other options we've tried was to plug in the ssd after booting into windows but the ssd was not detected in disk management or the bios. Does anyone have any experience with this and any ideas on how to get the ssd working again? The ssd contains the entirety of his university work and he can't afford to lose the data in the ssd.
  6. I have currently set my under 1 core to be 5.3Ghz and the rest at 5.1GHz but it doesn't reflect in hwinfo. I can confirm that hwinfo showed one core at 5.3 and the rest at 5.1 using my friend's motherboard
  7. It does. I can confirm through overclocking my friend's 9900k with strix z390e and observation through hwinfo
  8. Have looked into them but the gene is an matx board and the apex only has 2 ram slots and I have 4 sticks. Thanks for the recommendation though!
  9. Yea I was looking at the extreme since it is slightly more expensive than the formula.
  10. Oh sorry misread. Alright will explore the bios a bit more
  11. Can't find such an option. This is pretty bad board if that is the case and I might change to a ROG one. Thanks for your help! Side note: How do you know that my motherboard cannot set a per core OC?
  12. I have been digging through the bios and the only option I found is "Turbo Per Core Limit Control" but this had little to no effect on frequencies.
  13. Hi, coming from an Asus z270 motherboard, I am used to the per core overclock found in their bios. Now I am using a z390 gigabyte aorus master and I am unable to find the per core overclock option. Does Gigabyte offer a per core overclock option and where do I find it? Currently running 5.1GHz all core on the 9900k.
  14. Liquid temps are about 37 degrees at idle and 45 under 10 cores load
  15. Prime95, selected 10 workers and all 20 working for full load
  16. Ambient is 28 degC Pump is working with 2600 rpm Repasted several times and there's the spread pattern Plastic is removed Pump working, can feel the liquid through the loop
  17. Will be moving the pc every few months so no loops. It is delidded already.
  18. Hi, I'm running a delidded I9 7900X at 4.7GHz all cores and 1.25V on an X62 cooler with thermal grizzly Kryonaut. However my temps are 45degC on idle, 61degC with 10 cores loaded and 95-100+ on full load. Does anyone have experience with this kind of setup? I was expecting lower temps with all the x62 reviews I was seeing. Would upgrading to a x72 or H150i get lower temps
  19. I have a single 4k gsync monitor so the dual 1080TIs are useful in gsync. Also I do some computing work so the gpus are handy and some programming so I'd think a second monitor would help.
  20. My dealer is giving away a free Samsung 27 inch curved monitor with a 1tb 960 pro : https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/led/samsung-27-curved-led-monitor-lc27f591fdnxza/ I already have an SM951 boot drive but it has 150gb of storage left. Should I get the ssd or save up for something else? Already have 1080TIs in sli and quite tempted by the free monitor..
  21. I'm using a 8700k. Will I face bottlenecking issues with the gpus now that the pcie lanes are 8x?
  22. Hi, I'm trying to sli two Strix 1080TIs for multiple 4k screens but I'm using a gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7. Would the rog HB bridge fit the two cards even though the motherboard is of a different brand?
  23. Ah alright I understand. So I don't need the sound card for 7.1 channel. Just got one more clarification. Will the onboard soundcard and 5.25 amp provide a sound quality as good as a soundcard like the creative Zx or Essence STX?
