  1. Hi all I got my new 5950x for my work pc. I was monitoring the Vcore voltage of the cpu (haven't overclock or anything). And I see that it jumps up to 1.5V peak rally and most of the time it jumps to about 1.47V peak (seen from HWmonitor) and idle it is about 1V sometimes little under. Is these high peak vottages normal for this CPU? Or should I limit it in the BIOS? Looking forward to some advice
  2. Hi all I watch this youtube clip called: The Best Memory for AMD Ryzen - A Beginner's Guide to RAM Performance. Where Hardware Canucks explains that memory latency isn't really that beneficial to pay extra for on ryzen 5000x series (9:59 into the clip). So do you guys have the same conclusion, that I could just get a CL16 3600MHz kit where timing isn't that an important parameter. I made another post today, regarind timing where I can get lot cheaper 16-19-19-39 vs 16-16-16-36. I made a new post since this isn't a buying recommendation, since I follow the advice in that post. But just curious if it is true timing really doesn't matter that much anymore on ryzen 5000x series. Kind regards vikingen.
  3. Hi Stahlmann Thanks for your answer, it makes a lot of sense. Will I notice any performance loss by going: CL16 (16-19-19-39) vs CL16 (16-16-16-36). Since I would be able to get the size of ram with CL16 (16-19-19-39) timing instead.
  4. Hi linustechtips forum. I am going to buy 64GB of ram for my new work station. I am looking at either: one kit of 64GB G.Skill TridentZ Neo DDR4-3600 C16: F4-3600C16Q-64GTZN Versus two of the kits 32GB G.Skill TridentZ Neo DDR4-3600 C16: F4-3600C16D-32GTZN My question is, if there is a different by buying one or another of these two kits. Since I am able to get the F4-3600C16D-32GTZN at the moment.
  5. Thank you again MrJoosh for your help Yes I tried to double check all power connections but it all looked fine. I though to myself it should be connected okay since the motherboard light 2 buttons so I know it is connected. So do you think it sounds like the motherboard is dead or the cpu?
  6. Thanks for your reply MrJoosh Yes it tried to have it disconnected for some time (over 4 hours) but that didn't help either. I was just wondering if a m.2 or ssd or a ram block is defect that it can cause the computer not to tried boot at all?
  7. Oh a note, there is not Q code either (no light in the two 7 segments displays) and the bias reset button only light if I press it for 3 seconds to try and reset it.
  8. Hi LinusTechTips First off I will list my components: Asus deluxe 2 motherboard Intel 6850 broadwell-e cpu 4 sticks of 8gb ddr4 ram from corsair (can remeber exact name) corsair 100i cpu cooler Corsair HX1000i PSU m.2 ssd 512gb 256 sata ssd Yesterday I turned off my computer as usual. When I wanted to turn it on again, it would not turn on. I opened the computer to see if I could locate why. I could see that the power button and reset button on the motherboard is light and my bios reset button on the motherboard lights up as well. When I press the power button either on the front of the computer or on the motherboard, nothing happens, the fans does not even spin. I call the shop that sold me the products and talk to them, they said it might be my motherboard or cpu that has failed. I can RMA my products since there is still guarantee on my parts, but I just want to hear is there a chance that either the ssd, m.2 or the ram, can make the motherboard not try to power up? I think if it was a bad ram block or bad m.2 or ssd it would try to power up (fan spin and then shut down) or am I wrong. Please write if you need more information
  9. HI FTL I turn in XMP and when i did it change the BCLK frequency to 125 itself. And I haven't thouch any voltage levels. But I can se it set the CPU Cache voltage to 1.45V and CPU Core voltage to 1.225V running at 4GHz
  10. Hi I was wondering what voltage level the CPU Cache Voltage should be at? I am overclocking a 6850k with the asus deluxe 2 motherboard with a h110i water cooler. The Bclk is set to 125 since my memory need this to run at 3000Mhz
  11. Hi I am trying to use 5-way optimization from asus to overclock my 6850k with the asus deluxe 2 motherboard. But I don't know if the program is working correct? Since it just keep ramping up the frequency. I have manually made a overclock from the bios to 4.3GHz with core voltage of 1.3V, but was just courius on how the 5-way optimization would do. Is the program broke? Since it states that it can reach 5.5Ghz but when it restarts the pc can not boot. I am using my manually overclock, I was just wondering if other people have bad experience with the 5-way optimazation or I might have set something wrong?
  12. Hi LinusTechTips Since it is black friday the acer x34A is on sale in my contry going from 10000kr to 8000kr so about 20% off. I was wondering if it would be stupid to get this screen when the x34p is coming out in 2017? Looking forword to your reply
  13. I could try to lower the Vcore a bit. But glad to hear it isn't a dangerous setting for the CPU. My temps are quit good, since I am water cooling.
  14. Hi LinusTechTips I have overclock my cpu 6850k to the following: Core 0: 4.5GHz Core 1: 4.4Ghz Core 2: 4.4Ghz Core 3: 4.4Ghz Core 4: 4.4Ghz Core 5: 4.4Ghz With an adaptive Vcore of max 1.4 When I run heavy multi threads task, and the cpu goes over 55 degrees, Asus thermal control clocks the cpu down to 4.3 on all cores and has a max of 1.3 at Vcore. I am just wondering is 1.4 Vcore max as adaptive to much? It isn't at 1.4V all the time since it is adaptive. Looking forword to your advice.
  15. Hi McHox I haven't try to overclock before, so don't know what to change, and I read that the ai was good, but maybe not if the voltages is to high. Atm temps are going around 32-39 degrees celcius in idle / web browsing.
