  1. So I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 1700 and wanted to upgrade to the new Ryzen 5000 series. So I was thinking about getting either the 5800X or the 5600X, but concluded that maybe the 5600X would suffice and I could spend the 80 euro difference on something else (maybe RAM). For the motherboard I am considering the Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro (have only ever had Aorus MBs and I'm very happy with it). Furthermore I'm unsure if I should upgrade my RAM as I'm currently using 16GB Corsair Dominator 3000Mhz, but I've heard RAM speeds are important for the Ryzen 5000 series. So I'd either get new 32GB at 3200/3600Mhz or new 16Gb at 3600/4000 Mhz and maybe get a Ryzen 5800X. What do you think of this? PC would be used equally for gaming and programming (thats where I thought 32GB RAM would come in handy). GPU is a GTX 1070 Ti btw, but not planning to upgrade due to prices atm. Thanks in advance!
  2. Weight is actually quite important to me, and I don't really mind losing 1 usb-c port (compared to the T14s). Unfortunately there's no touch screen option in this store, but I don't really mind tbh.
  3. Hey guys, As I'm starting university this October, I am searching for a new laptop. I am going to study business informatics and therefore need a notebook that is thin & light, long battery life and reasonable power (Ryzen 7/ i7, 16GB RAM). I was already looking into some student rebate websites and the laptops I found most promising are: Lenovo Thinkpad X13 AMD (~1000 €) Lenovo Thinkpad T14 AMD (~1200€) Lenovo Thinkpad T14s AMD (~1400€) All of them would be fitted with a Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U, 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. Therefore, I am asking you if anyone can give me any recommendations on which one to choose (preferably if you own one of these units). Thanks in advance!
  4. Things is that I'm not a fan at all of Cooler Master. So I never really considered them, even though it seems everyone is recommending them. Could you maybe rank the options I listed?
  5. Hello, so I want to buy a headset for gaming as my G633s seem to die slowly. Mainly be playing competitive games like CS GO, sometimes also singleplayer games like Metro or AC. In between I also like to listen to music, mostly bass-lasty titles. I considered these: HyperX Cloud Alpha HyperX Revolver S Beyerdynamic Custom Game Steelseries Arctis Pro (without Game DAC) Steelseries Arctis 5/(7) Could anyone help me choosing? I am open for further recommendations. Also found someone selling beyerdynamic DT 880s with ModMic V5 for 150. Good option or not?
  6. I don't actually really intend on keeping this notebook for more than 2 years, as I just need it for my last two years of school now, then I'm gonna get a more potent laptop ofc. So I don't think that a quad core is really necessary.
  7. Hey guys, I'm searching for a notebook with these requirements: 13"-14" screen, preferably IPS i5 processor at least 6th generation 256GB storage min. 8GB RAM at least 8h of battery, so it should get me through a day at school/college when using Word/ web browsing, etc. under 1.7kg (3.8 lbs) Windows 10 I already found 2 options: HP Elitebook 840 G2 HP Elitebook 840 G3 I found both of them used, but in a good condition for 400$ and 500$ respectively. Would this be a good option? Budget is in this range.
  8. Thanks a lot! During my research I also got similar results. For me, I guess the HP Probook 440 G5 would sound the best, as it has good decent hardware and battery life. Sure, it cannot be as thin as maybe the Asus one, but it's got a bit outdated hardware, as I would really like to us it for the next 3-4 years. Do you think it would be a good choice to go with a dGPU, bc I'm probably gonna have to some programming and maybe CAD design, or just with the iGPU, which would probably result in better battery life?
  9. Thanks: amazon.de cyberport.at mediamarkt.at conrad.at
  10. Hey guys, I'm searching for a laptop, which I will be using for college, as an engineering student. Only requirements for me would be: a decent processor (maybe i5 or i7, preferably 8th gen.) thin light battery, that can easily get me through a day don't need a dedicated GPU, as I've got a decent Desktop PC for gaming Price under 900$ or euros Must be available in Germany Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
  11. Do you have any opinion on GLH or HOF maybe, becuase these were the ones I was originally opting for?
  12. Hey guys, I have to decide between these 4 GTX 1080 cards: Hall of Fame --> 580,- Gainward GLH --> 560,- Zotac Amp Extreme --> 610,- EVGA FTW --> 590,- Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
  13. Would maybe a Gainward Golden Sample or GLH be a good choice?
  14. Do you think there's any difference in future support, regarding the 1080 (which came out more than one year ago) and the 1070ti?
  15. Could you recommend me any custom versions off amazon.de, maybe?
  16. Hey guys, I am currently searching for a new GPU for a maximum of 550 euros, so the only to viable options for me would be a 1070ti, 1080 (or eventually 1070, but probably not). I am gaming on 2560x1440 144Hz screen and don't really mind too much if I have to lower the settings to medium and I really don't want to spend 750+ euros on a 1080ti. Which of these would be the better option for me? Thanks in advance! P.S. I'll buy it from amazon.de
  17. I guess you're right. I'm definitely not willing to spend more than 600€ on a GPU.
  18. Pricing is pretty much the same, although I must say that a friend of mine had got an Asus 1080ti and in comparison to my old Fury I'm negatively impressed by how loud it actually is under light load. Probably the Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming is the GPU of my choice as it would sync up with the RGB illumination of my Gigabyte Mainboard.
  19. I'm pretty positive about going to 144Hz, but my decision now is whether to go with Nvidia or AMD now, as I found a good option for a monitor for each side for around 500 euros. Which one do you think will be more futureproof? AMD had got the newer technology, which still seems to lack performance in recent games, but will future games be more optimized towards their technology? Furthermore, do you think I can expect a decent (20%) improvement in performance when going for aftermarket solution, because if both those assumptions are unreasonable then AMD would definitely be a no go for me, at least in the GPU sector?
  20. Yeah, might also be true. Can you recommend me any 1080? I mean I'm already pretty sold on the GLH, due to low noise and temperatures, but do you have any other recommendations?
  21. Thanks. I think that this should be no problem if I get a Gainward GTX 1080 GLH and just push the core clock a bit more, right?
  22. Hey guys, I now want to upgrade either my GPU or my monitor, then followed by the counterpart in winter. Currently: Sapphire R9 Fury LG 29UM68-P (75Hz, Ultrawide, FreeSync) I would be able to spend about 1000€ (max. 1200€) on both parts, but I just want to spend a maximum of 600€ right now. Looking at GPUs only Vega 64 (maybe 56 also), and on the Nvidia side GTX 1080 maybe 1080ti (if the price drops a bit) would be an option. Talking about monitors, I either want to go for another Ultrawide but with 144Hz (unfortunately the only reasonably priced ones are all equipped with FreeSync) or 27" 1440p at 144Hz. BTW: CPU is R1700 @ 3.8 GHz and I'll mostly play games like Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, PUBG, and some AAA titles. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance! Edit: If I go for an 1080 now which should be able to maintain over 75fps, is FreeSync really necessary?
  23. I don't really need an IPS panel, a TN panel is totally fine with me. Besides, the PG279Q is about 650-700 euros, and I don't think it's worth 200 euros plus.
  24. Hey guys, I was searching for a monitor upgrade, namely to 1440p 144Hz. The best options I found were: BenQ Zowie XL2735 --> 530 euros BenQ Zowie XL2730 --> 500 euros Dell S2717DG --> 530 euros I am also looking forward to upgrading my GPU at the end of this year and I'm still not sure about going with Vega or Nvidia, that's why I listed a GSync, a FreeSync and a non-adaptive-but-still-quite-good-I-think monitor. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!
