Tbh I don't get why my parents hate on our S70 so much when the BMW is in the shop more than it is on the road.

 

 

Just sell it and get a more reliable car. We aren't even losing out on much; the infotainment system is awful, it's ugly, the seats are uncomfortable, it's an automatic, it's slow, and it's not super fuel efficient.

    How old is the BMW and what problems does it suffer from?

    2007 530XI. I have access to full maintenance records, but they have personal info on them so I can't just link them.

     

    In 2019 alone we had a weird electrical issue which cost over $400 to fix after a big discount, something with suspension  (broken tie rod iirc and they found a bunch of other stuff when they looked at it), and now we have this cracked spring.

    For an 07 car I think it's pretty normal to have worn/broken suspension components since I'm guessing these were never replaced, though it shouldn't have suffered from electrical problems. Do you know what 'electrical' problems it had?

    I think this was just a stupid electrical fault that shouldn't have happened, although it makes sense (to me at least).
