  1. plugged in old psu turns out the new one is dead, im disappointed i have always trusted corsairs products, this was the first one to let me down
  2. i placed the mobo on its box the entire time i was working with it and even if i had shorted it wouldnt it make a noise or something to show it wasnt working.
  3. i have all the power switches and and power leds and all that plugged into the right ones that worked in my old case but now in this new case with the new psu nothing turns on, i cant decide if maybe something is broken or what
  4. well i am leaving on vacation tomorrow and i have been been doing this for about 5 hours so im not gonna start over again i have all my power cables into the mobo, i mean i have built the computer before but im now having problems trying to change cases. The only plug that isnt plugged in is a small plug labelled 1394 coming from the case but i have no idea where it goes on the mobo.
  5. Hey guys i just got a new corsair 650d case with a corsair rm750 psu and a corsair h60 cooler. When i was transferring all my hardware from my previous case to my new case i ran into a problem. The mobo i have is a msi z77a g45 and for the most part i have plugged the psu cables into slots that i know are correct but there are some cables, specifically ones from my case that i just dont know where they go at all. I have my hardrives and fans plugged in i got my psu plugged in with the switch turned on and the computer wont even start. When i press the power button at the front of the case absolutely nothing happens so i would assume its not connected to the motherboard. Can someone please help me figure out which cables need to go where on the mobo for it to work.
  6. Hey guys so im thinking about purchasing a second monitor on black friday. I already have a dell monitor that is not so great so my plan is to buy a new benq monitor for gaming and keep my second monitor for watching videos, media, etc. Will having to monitors at different frame rates and different response times mess with my graphics card or will any problems result from this? Also on linus' videos he always says that display port is the best to use instead of hdmi but under the specs of all the good gaming monitors i never see display port mention as an option. also if i were to have 2 monitors with different displays on each would i use and hdmi hub or splitter or what?
  7. however dual gtx 660 would beat a 280x and would be about even with a 770 not to mention going through the process of selling my card seems like it would take a long time and i dont even know where i would begin.
  8. no i havent bought the second card yet. i only have one 660 as of right now. the point of this forum post was to ask how to setup the sli with 2 screens and it turned into a debate about single card vs sli. The 4gb 770 looks really nice but on youtube videos of benchmarks the 660 sli beats both that and the 680 in performance on most games so i will probably get the second 660 anyway because its cheaper.
  9. on my first 660 i spent about $230 usd. and the 4gb 770 i would get is about $380 so overall the 770 might be a better deal but since i bought a 660 8 months ago im not really considering that part of the cost. Im looking at spending $230 or $380 which is why im leaning towards the 660 just because it is cheaper.
  10. the 660's that i would have are 2gb vram
  11. okay so last month the people all said go for the dual gtx 660 and now people are telling me to go for a single card so idk which one to do now, also if i were to go for a 770 how would i go upon selling my 660 i have no friends that would want it so idk how i would sell it anyway.
  12. but getting a second 660 would save me $200+ and with 2 gtx 660's i wont run into problems for awhile, bf4 for example i could run ultra 1080p with 60fps+
  13. selling a used gpu seems like a lot of pain and i would not get a significant amount for it and another gtx 660 is only $230 so it would be better price to performance. and with the second card i would have 4gb of vram.
  14. why so? about a month ago I made a post asking if I should get something like a 770 or a 680 instead but most people seemed to say a second 660 would beat both of them also it would be so much cheaper as well.
  15. also are there any software problems at the moment that might present problems with running sli for current games like fps issues or screen tearing or anything?
