  1. I don't think its the slot as the 7950 was also in that slot, could the extra power needed by the gtx 780 have caused the PSU to fry it. At this stage I might as well just buy a PS4 and go back to console gaming.
  2. I'm not sure if it is my psu tohugh because I was using a amd 7950 while I was waiting for my replacement, I did notice some artifacting while i was using it however.
  3. On April fools day my MSI TF GTX 780 died on me, I was playing star citizen and thee screen suddenly went black. I tired turning my pc on but it wouldn't output but my intergrated gpu would. I put the GTX 780 in another pc and it wouldn't output so I conclueded it was dead and got a replacement from MSI. I got it today and plugged it into my pc and was playing gta v forr abbout 5 hours when my screen suddenly turned off. When I tried to turn it on I heard a pop and saw smoke comming out of the 8pin and 6 pin slot. I have attached where the smoke came from. Now it won't output aswell. What is going on with my PC? Any help would be appricated.

  5. I recently rebuilt my pc after my motherboard caught on fire. Anyway it randomly blue screens and displays the error message WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. The problem is that it is so vague that it could be anything. I tried updating my drivers, checking my ram, removing my gpu but to no avail. any ideas of what could be causing the problem? 6. It booted into the bios and all the parts were working when motherboard caught on fire. Everything was working apart from the motherboard being on fire when it was in bios so no parts were damaged apart from the motherboard as I turned of the pc immediately.
  7. I was doing a new PC build today and the instant I turned it on a capacitor caught on fire. Luckily i turned of the PC immediately and the only damage was a scolded capacitor near the southern bridge of the motherboard but I would like to know any ideas of what you think may have caused this and what effect it has on the rest of the PC. I'm sure i installed it properly and every thing was connected but i am a novice to PC building and this experience has turned my off from ever attempting a build again. 8. I guess i'll have to wait for the 9xxx series then.
  9. I would disagree with wait for the 9970 for several reasons. The 7990 is unlikely to get any cheaper and will most likley be sold out by October as the production of the 7990 will have stopped by q3 2013. The 7990 beats the rumoured specs of the 9970. Amd will want to move away from the position of being the best value so I believe that the 9970 wil not include the never settle bundle as they don't have to anymore if the 9970 beats the gtx 780 in terms of specs. Also in the UK GPUs are usually more expensive than the US so it may be Likely that the 9970 could be more expensive than what the 7990 is retailing for on the website so I would be paying more for less in terms of performance so I don't see a reason to wait for the 9xxx series. I really want the never settle bundle so I will most likely go with the 7990 instead of waiting for the 9xxx series.
  10. After Amd's recent price drop of the 7990 the card can now be had for about the same money as a gtx 780 (£569 for 7990 and £529 for a gtx 780 which is about a $60 in the us). Before I was a bit apprehensive of the idea of owning a 7990 due the the widely documented micro stuttering problems but apparently the new 13.8 beta drivers have resolved the problems. I will be gaming on a single 2560 x 1440 so I will be compatible with the drivers. Which one do you think is the better deal as I intend to keep the GPU for at least 3 years?
