  1. I do already own the psu, I heard bad things about the AGS850 , but the review from this guy about the AGK850 it seemed pretty in depth and sounded like it was pretty value overall. Unless Im missing somthing
  2. I cant exactly tell but can someone tell me if this psu is compatable with the rtx 3080? I think its fine but Im not entiretly sure. Thanks for the help! For context this is the gpu im refering --> https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B09BNBWSWJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  3. I have a 5600x, I havent updated my bio for the forum, so I think I should be fine in that regard for now. Im thinking if I find a 3070 for 550 Cad it might be value to get over a 4070 regardless. Unless the 4070 is suppose to have unforseen levels of performance.
  4. Currently in my system I have a gtx 1060, and I have wanted to upgrade for a bit now, I just dont know if its value to buy a used 3070 or wait for the 4070 release. Thoughts on this would be appreciated!
  5. Since the server isn't pulling more than 85 watts. So I thought that really any supply would work
  6. For some context, I would like to build a new server. The specs are 1600, b350 mortar board, 8gb of ram, 120gb ssd, Evga geforce 8400 512Mb, and the problem this antec smartpower 350 watt supply. It has a 24pin cable, and a 6 pin cable, I was wondering if its ok to use a 6 - 8pin converter or would it be a really bad move?
  7. Hi this an old python pygame tutorial for tetris from tech with tims, I want to a function to this code where I can create a ghost piece so the user knows where there piece is going to drop. Im trying to create a ghost_piece and I know I have to set it to the current piece. The problem with this is beacuse the ghost_piece needs to be at the bottom it is immediatly locked and I cant seem to understand how he locked the piece in the first place, so I dont really know how to unlock it. 8. Switches for mechanical keyboard have come a very long way in the last couple years. Cherry in many peoples mind including linuses is no longer the gold standard
  9. I would like to build a new mechancial keyboard my current keyboard is the corsair k70 mk2, with silvers. Im in the market for a new keyboard but the prices seem a little nuts to me. I would like to build a keyboard from the 150 - 200 canadian dollar range. I think I want my keyboard to have either gateron ink blacks or ink yellows, and a hotswap pcb would be preferable.
  10. I didn't even think about visiting the motherboards website, it says it supports 5000 series Ryzen, so I should even have to flash it right?
  11. Hi I just go a new motherboard and CPU and I was wondering if I needed a old CPU to be able to boot into the bios to flash it? I have an r5 1600 that I can use but I don't want to waste time. For reference the motherboard I'm switching to is The B550m AORUS PRO - P
  12. Ya i got a 500gb m,2 drive for my new rig, and windows will automatically just replace the old driver files from the previous mobo?
  13. I just recently got new components and I was wondering if I could use the same hard drive on a new computer? and if I can do I have to uninstall the old motherboard drivers or should I just wipe the drive before I reinstall it? For reference Im moving from a 1600 to a 5600x and a b550m.
  14. I'm moving the components of my pc to a new case and im buying a 5600x along side that, and I was wondering if a b550 board is worth it? I know it wont be a large increase but I don't know fully know what the benefits are either. p.s: for context the current motherboard I have on rn is the msi b350m mortar.
  15. I want to get a 2 in 1 device but I was thinking maybe it might be better for longevity to get a tablet and a laptop for the same price since I dont hear great things about 2 in 1. How ever I am interested in the surface book 3 since its just a laptop that has a detachable screen. I would like to hear more opinions on this
  16. Hi im going into university soon, and I want a good laptop that can also function as tablet for taking notes, preferably I would like it to be somewhat powerful to handle a little bit of coding and maybe some 3d modeling. Ive been thinking about the surface but Im not fully well versed on all the options out there.
  17. the problem is I will have a machine to do all that but just in my dorm. This will primarily be a secondary machine as a note taking device as a primary functions, so thats why the Ipad is so high on my list. I still have a lot of mixed feelings about the mac and ipad situations as Ive heard both sides of the argument.
  18. check the fin array for the radiator, some might be restricting proper air flow
  19. Do the cs classes make you program in class? or is it more they give you a lecture and you do the real coding after class. Cause if thats the case than an Ipad might be a hurtful move unless they update the os. But from the macbook side of things Ive heard that most universities try to opt out of using programs that only some os can run (btw im in ontario canada). Also since you have a mac, whats your opinion on bootcamp?
  20. I have a windows running system that im brining but that will stay in my dorm. The reason for the ipad is, their note taking software is really intuitive from what ive seen and used from other friends devices, I know its a hefty premium but I will be using a trade in to lower the cost anyways. And the reason for the pro is I would like a larger surface area, but ive never used the 11" version. Also it would nice to have a backup computer for tasks besides my main pc.
