  1. Woops didn't notice. Should I take this post down?
  2. Noctua has finally released fans with a new color scheme! The "Redux" series of fans are grey whilst the new IndustrialPPC fans are black with some brown accents. The IndustrialPPC fans also seem to have IP52 and IP67 water and dust resistance ratings. The Redux line features newly colored NF-P14, NF-S12B, NF-B9 and NF-R8 fans. Noctua states the IndustrialPPC fans as being ruggedised NF-F12 and NF-A14 fans, also featuring a new color scheme. The industrialPPC fans come in 140 and 120 mm sizes, where as the Redux series features 80, 92, 120 and 140 mm fans. The industrialPPC series has a suggested retail price of 30-35 dollars, depending on the size and IP52 or IP67 rating. The redux series however has an RSP of anywhere between 15 and 20 dollars, depending on the diameter of the fan. I'm very happy to see that noctua finally has some other options in terms of color scheme. More info here: http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=news_list&news_id=93
  3. Are the ATH-M40X headphones a good choice when compared to the somewhat more expensive ATH-M50x? Also after watching Logan's video on gaming audio I wonder if these will perform well for gaming, if the video was in fact correct about gaming audio. I know the ATH-M50x are an excellent pair of headphones but I feel like it's a little too expensive. Does somebody know more about the m40x's?
  4. Also, my friend has the exact same PC (exact same hardware) and is getting 180 fps stable, so it has to be a software problem.
  5. I've had it both on and off, but the fps still doesn't reach the refreshrate most of the time
  6. I've used different drivers, they didn't help.
  7. I already have Optifine installed and I have also deleted the temp files, didn't do anything as far as I can tell.
  8. he's propably talking about the refresh rate of his monitor.
  9. max fps, v-sync, I've tried everything
  10. Something seems to be horribly wrong with my minecraft. My build (FX-8320, 8gig 1600mhz, R9 270x) seems to average at about 40-50 fps. I've run the game before with well above 100fps. It started after I installed the Beta 14.1 drivers for my 270x. I removed the driver using driver sweeper and the FPS returned to its former glory. Later I reinstalled the beta drivers (stupid I know) and then reverted back to the old 13.12 drivers once again, but this time the FPS didn't change. As far as I know, I have completely wiped the drivers using driver sweeper and installed the 13.12 drivers again. Has anyone had this before or does anyone know how to fix this? Other things I've tried: Updating/reinstalling Java Allocating more RAM to minecraft Monitoring GPU/RAM/CPU usage (they're all quite low) Using other minecraft versions Reinstalling minecraft Is there perhaps a different way that I should have wiped the drivers?
  11. Sorry if this is a noob question, but after watching Linus' videos for quite some time I've learned that your VRAM stays the same as one videocard in Crossfire or SLI. Why does this occur? If you run two 3gig cards in SLI, how come you don't have 6gigs of VRAM and what happens to the 3 other gigs of memory? Again, sorry if this is a stupid question but I've wondered about this for a long time.
  12. Hi all, I'm building a new PC for gaming soon and I don't know whether to get a 4gig 270x or a 2gig one. I thought it would be more future proof then (more VRAM for 4k monitors, high res textures) but I'm no longer sure if that is actually true. I believe that 2gigs should be plenty for 1080p gaming and that getting a 4gig card will have almost no performance increase, however, I'm not completely sure on this. Any help?
  13. Hi all, After a long time I have finally been able to select some good parts for my PC build. Are these parts appropriate for the price-point? Also can someone possibly recommend a good and cheap CPU cooler because I wasn't sure which one to get. CPU- AMD FX-6350 GPU- MSI R9 270x (2gig) Mobo- ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 (AM3+) RAM- Kingston HyperX 8gig (2x4gig) Storage- WD Blue 1tb hdd Case- Coolermaster HAF 912 Advanced SSD- Samsung 840 EVO 120gb PSU- Corsair 430CX Thanks!
  14. So I'm building a PC for gaming use (FPSes at 1080p) in a while. I'm thinking of going with an AMD cpu and an AMD GPU aswell. I'm a bit worried though because I don't want to build a pc and have the next generation of GPUs come out right after I build it. A 7850 or 7870 would seem pretty good for my budget (~750 euros) but I'm not sure whether I should build it around this time. Any advice?
