  1. I have a core i5 2500k and i need help finding a decent overclocking board and a cooler to keep up with the higher clock speeds. I'm on a tight budget so for the motherboard anything below $90 and for the cpu cooler below $40 is awesome. I generally buy my hardware from ebay so it's very appreciated if you can find the items there.
  2. I unplugged the battery held the power button for 10 seconds to drain any leftover juice it may have still had in there and put everything back in and it still keeps doing its problem. I even looked in the manual and placed a jumper on the clear cmos pins and waited for a minute then took off the cap and pressed the power button and same result still :/. I had bought the board not that long ago in mid june. The psu i have had it since late 2009 but it hasn't had any sort of issues at all. And with or without the gpu installed it will still keep doing the same thing even after double checking my connectors if they were seated correctly.
  3. No i am not sure how to reset the bios. My gpu is a sapphire radeon hd 6950 and my power supply is an antec basiq bp500u.
  4. I have a board that i want to use again but this problem has been stuck with me for a long time now. Whenever i push the power button everything will light up and then shut back down almost instantly with no display at all. The board is a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 and the cpu is an intel core i3 530. I've tried swapping memory in different configurations and putting new ones in there and still nothing and it doesn't stay on for even half a second and no beep codes from the internal speaker.
  5. I'm an audiophile and i was wondering if there are any headphones that pack a punch in audio quality and in bass but not too excessive and that it wont destroy my wallet. My preference is over the head headphones but earbuds are also ok. The budget is $20 to $50. Can not go over. Thanks!
  6. Thanks and good thing you reminded me of that. I guess i'll wait until i see real world benchmarks
  7. Before i pulled the trigger on spending my money on the amd x4 860k i came across another one on amazon. (This one here) : https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Athlon-Thermal-Solution-AD860KXBJASBX/dp/B01BIWKNAK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1482200183&sr=8-2&keywords=amd+x4+860k It caught my eye at first because it was a lot cheaper and it looked the same but when i scrolled down the page it was a 2016 model instead of the other one which was a 2014 model. (Here) : https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Athlon-Black-3700Mhz-AD860KXBJABOX/dp/B00MU00IOQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482200311&sr=1-1&keywords=amd+x4+860k I want to go for the cheaper 1 but i'm not sure if the newer model will work on my motherboard that i want to buy for it. (motherboard) : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157571&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
  8. Would this be a consideration for a different ram profile? Or would i be able to use a different slot because i heard that some boards only work with a specific slot. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231455&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
  9. I also have one last question. will my hyper 212 evo be blocking my ram slots?
  10. I get your point. Not really looking into future proofing because i know that this pc isn't going to keep up with modern games and i'm just building this pc because my current one isnt capable of modern games. I don't have that much money especially since i can't work yet because i'm only 15. So i'm just playing the waiting game until i can build something that will suit me for a long time.
  11. Thank you very much. Didn't know that amd's overclocking boards where that cheap
  12. Games i would generally like to play would be Gta 5, Just cause 3, Fallout 4, and Crysis 3. And if you know a motherboard that isn't on the expensive side but lets you overclock the 860k that would be great. You don't have to look for a cooler as i already ordered the hyper 212 evo.
  13. I'm a little confused about my upcoming budget gaming pc because i see that there is a spec difference between these two CPU's. My build will have a skylake intel pentium g4400 but this only has two cores and the amd 860k is a quad core and since games usually need a quad core to get some decent frames and minimal stutter. what should i choose?
  14. A friend of mine is wanting to get a better experience in modern games and wants what is best for his money. He is not planing to do any kind of overclocking and is not going to be rendering videos so z170 or x99 boards isn't a thing he wants. He won't be going for liquid cooling since he is a pretty basic guy. He will tend to use it stricktly as a gamimg rig only. He does want to keep costs down a bit and could use a new keyboard and mouse and he doesn't want something fancy like rgb, macros, etc. He just wants something that will serve him well and that will last him for a while. I really don't think he plans to play games at 1440p or 4k but wants a great experience in 1080p. Has around $600 but is willing to spend $920 at his max. He will appreciate a very premium look to his whole pc as long as the prices aren't through the roof. Thank you for reading and helping me. Edit: Spelling
