  1. What paste did you use and how are the results compared to today. Implicating that you have used that CPU and still have the same paste on it. That is, what I´m worried about. Long term usage. Also, most won´t change up their paste every year. Some of my friends never changed the paste on anything. Not even the cooler. And not even clean their PCs from dust. And use it for like 6+ years.
  2. No one shows their cooling solution and stats in comparison. Also the long term effects of using a different thermal paste. And the long term effects of using their thermal paste. Read about some Reddit tests that hinted, the performance would decrease to the PONR. Someone also did a delid and tested it against the same stock intel paste. And the results also lowered over time. That is, why I want a video of testing it, over a long time of period. I know that the over kinds of pastes also dry faster. Or could simply cause micro cracks. I am not saying it is better or worse. I just want to see really deep testing and comparison.
  3. 70° C -> 67/68° C Even tho it is SkyLake - Real gains here. I don´t trust many reviews. I would do it to my KabyLake Chip. But I don´t want to damage it. Would test it after I got the new i9 tho. I loved my i7-4790k. It overclocked like a boss. And the temps were ROCK solid.
  4. This CPU is very powerful. I use it as an All-In-One Solution for, my Smart-Home, NAS, HTPC and Security Server all in one build. Also for Gaming with some Emulators on my TV, older Games run quite good on this. Everything to like Portal 2 runs very well on it. I want to see that test done right. As if they never ran the CPUs and checked for maximum potential. Do you think they reduced the clock speed and write down higher ones than they can run on? The clock speeds always turned out great, compared to the reasonable temperatures for that power. Also, Intel does know how to apply TIM right.
  5. http://overclocking.guide/the-truth-about-cpu-soldering/ Best part: -- Whenever I read sentences like “What a ripoff – Intel doesn’t even solder a 300 USD CPU” or “Why does intel save 2 USD on soldering” I’m thinking

  7. I will look into that. Thanks. :-) But I would also love some other options, especially if I want to use it as RAID or for something else. ^^ I am still not so far away from the idea of just buying parts and building a mini-ITX machine. I didn´t know that there are so many mini-OC options. Lenovo Q190 ASUS Chromebox M004UAzulle Quantum ByteGigabyte BrixShuttle DS437TIntel NUC The ZBox does also look nice and would allow 2 SSDs. Has anyone an experience with that one?
  8. I would love to have the option to just swap out parts. And from my understanding, it isn´t as easy with a NUC or an old laptop. And If possible it should also be at least good-ish at performance / per watt and performance / cost. ---- @vorticalbox What are the differences between the Intel NUC and the Gigabyte Brick? And thanks for the quick replies. :-)
  9. Hello lovely LTT-Community, I´m currently figuring out a way to run a variety tasks 24/7 cheap, small and power efficient. The tasks are ranging from: Downloading (via shell, torrent, steam or other things) Running low-performance Windows applications (A Teamspeak Server, maybe running some Idle-Games on it or something else) Streaming Backups and maybe even running a RAID Powershell scripts Using it as a "Gateway" into my network The thing is that I don´t want to use my custom gaming rig. And it probably wouldn´t be a good idea running a water-cooled PC 24/7 without supervision. Neither would it make sense in terms of the power consumption or the health of the components. I would love to use something like the Intel NUC-series or some Mini-PC, but I couldn´t find something that suits my needs fully. And if possible I would love to have the option to just swap out parts. The PC must be 64 bit or at least x86-32 and run with windows 7 or higher since some of the tasks need that. So sadly no Raspberry or something like that for me. ._. Some Info to start with: I´m currently living in Germany so EUR-prices would be nice, but entirely not needed. Since I can easily look through all components and try to find a good offer for them here in Germany. I would also buy used components for that PC. I already looked through some of the threads addressing the same type of idea. Here is a build I found: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2710572/build-cheap-leave.html The components would probably be an overkill for the tasks and I would love some cheaper option. Running by that basic idea, I looked into some other options and compared them though cpuboss. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Pentium-G3258-vs-Intel-Pentium-G3220 http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Pentium-G3258-vs-Intel-Core-i3-4370 http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-6700-vs-AMD-Phenom-II-X6-Black-1090T I would love some input from you guys. I haven´t really decided which form-factor I will use or even what case I would use for the PC. Maybe there is a complete product. So I am open for your suggestions. It would be nice if I got some ideas timely, so I can maybe shop some of the items while there is the Black-Friday-Weekend. (Will keep updating this post along the line) With friendly Regards Jan aka. Sonorpearl
  10. Same problem here. With floatplane and the bronze membership. (From Germany) I would love supporting you guys, but I can´t in the moment. Also, big thanks to you guys, responding so fast to the issue.
  11. Whoops I meant headphone. ^^ I will see and wait which get reduced on the prime day at amazon. ^^ Probably many get a good amount of discount. Maybe till that, there are some new recommendations. Thank you very much Dackzy. :-)
  12. That is a nice recommendation. I will look into the headphones and probably try a few. But I have a quick question. They probably have dolby surround, does that do the "positioning"? Or do they need something like the "razer surround" programm or an external soundcard? Thanks in advance.
  13. Thank you. :-) I guess more it would be a bit more bass. And it should be open or semi-open. The look does not matter, as long it does not look really stupid ^^
