The XDA developers forums are REALLY fleshed out with LOTS of roots, software, and users with many phone models. I even found people modding my super obscure phones for their time (kyocera/Honor)

Inadvertently the Pi/surface tab sounds like my final device build for the van, its gonna have solar. I just dont want to have to charge my audio device all the time, and want something I can put together with the old phones in the tech drawer. This is the power consumption of the current generation of one of the devices i might use, the older one has less power draw(less ram/cores/hz) 0.2 watts in a deactivated state. It was 0.5 watts in standby, and idle mode reached up to 1.9 watts. The absolute peak consumption was 6 watts (kyocera torque) circa 2018 but under $20 on ebay. . . and I have the older one already. A galaxy note 4 which will DEFINITELY have alternative os is $50on ebay and 1..75w My point here I can pick up an old samsung from goodwill and have super low power draw and spend under $25, but I already have some old devices.

Isnt it essentially a Piezoelectric Fan against a manifold* for that jet impingement effect, LTT did a video on piezo fans there are also phase change coolers that are just giant heatsinks weve seen vids on as well. Air has a maximum amount of heat it can carry, volume is VERY important they are bypassing this by increasing the amount of heat the air can carry with above jet effect, it seems phase change is truely fanless. I mean the guys talking about vibrations and solid state is in the title, its not solid state if its vibrating right? If it could be scaled(meybe in some sort of finstack)[somehow smaller than a fan] it might be useful for desktop useage but these are mobile device coolers as of now.

I've done some mobile rooting and OS swaps, IK its usually VERY phone specific but there are more and more OS with multiple brands of compatibility, Lineage OS mentioned above seems like one. I'm mostly interested in reccommendations for low power draw or just good alternative OS anyone has experience with. The car has the USB, no problem there yeh, the van is only audio jack, and the car I'm thinking of is JDM import so I wanted something plugnplay for 9mm headphone jack The x86 linux distro is a great idea for the van though, it would make the perfect media device as I will overhaul that one eventually, though at that point it may make more sense just to pop my laptop in when I need it. I just like the idea of putting mounting spots for the surface tab. edit* also idk if I need a tab or large screen if I have a TV in the van .. ..

@emosun I want lower power draw, I'm likely never going to use cellular bluetooth meybe even wifi, its also slow, takes forever changing songs or doing anything. @Dukesilver27-Thaks for the suggestion, one of my old samsung should work with lineage, I also have a kyocera TANK from school, waterproof(2 meters?), us military approved, removable battery, which is why I still have it.

I want to turn old phones into media devices for my vehicles. Does anyone know of or have any reccomendations for a super low spec OS, as well as just some android alternatives for mobile devices?

Laptop in infinite boot loop and I can't shut it down
itisme911 replied to YubiHunter's topic in Troubleshooting
It could in rare instances cause damage but yeah you got it, pop the battery and make sure the ram is seated properly and meybe try 1 stick if there is more. If the old RAM works meybe try it again. -
tighten the mounting screws on cpu a little and see if it helps any that torque spec messes w a lot of people.

Use radeon software to check temps and manage them, take off side panel if it helps add an intake fan near your GPU It really shouldnt be that hot unless youre hitting it HARD

Probably not enough to keep it well under 90 during intense load, definitely not overclocked and why havve a 12900k if you arent going to OC?

Rad mounted at the top, its exhausting air up and out right? what case? troubleshoot by trying it with your side panel off to see if its airflow. If the top of the case is perforated or glass or just bad airflow that could be it. Device manager rarely works right with products like that, I remember a customers PC having similar thing in dev manager just check your drivers. You could try motherboard fan ports and see if that works. idk if we talking about the same reddit user but the one I saw had the 150i at 40-50celcius idle and its a bigger cooler. Is windows updating?

Looks good, if you could spring for an 80+ gold it would save power and increase stability esp over time. The ram is a little slow/budget, if you can find ram on the AMD approved ram list that would be best. Check out dealsource.tech they have a UK version w good deals

I think discord still does 720p screenshare -
Check the cores as well, are all cores hot? if only 1-2cores are hot at idle its fine. I found a reddit user who said 5800x and h150i. I idle between 40 and 50 degrees but their cooler is 150% the size of yours 240 vs 360mm it's possible the cooler is underpowered for your cpu. Where do you have the cooler mounted? is there plenty of airflow? Ideally I would have it venting out the top so heat rising helps. Meybe task manager and see if your computer has a virus/is mining crypto. Also if the inside of your PC is too toasty it will hurt the performance of the AIO, so make sure you have some intake fans, I like more intake than exhuast fans for the wird dust lines that form with too many intake fans. Is your AIO pump plugged into a pump port on your motherboard? I would use manufacures reccommended port. Don't overtighten your cpu heatsink but it should be tight, I believe AMD has torque spec for it use the tool that came w the CPU.
